Freida on Elle India: (Un)Covered

February 9th, 2010 at 11:28 am . by Payal

We’d have barely recognized Freida on this cover if not for the bolded name. Having said that, quite love this pic. It’s fun and flirty.

I am absolutely loving her footwear… I want

  2. Tongue in Chic says:

Fun and fresh! Wish more of her face was visible though. It IS a magazine cover, after all.

  3. MANGOgrl says:

i wish there was no stich seen on her thighs as it makes it looks so hard tried on.

i love the cover, wish some soft curls out of bed hair

  4. akanksha says:

Very lovely… I got a copy for me today….. even the insides are beautiful…. she looks very fresh… sure a “million dollar baby” as the ELLE team puts it…

  5. Lolita says:

What is to like? You cant even see her face .. her pose is really weird .. her outfit is like a balck shear cloth .. okay ya maybe the footwear is alright

  6. lovechanel says:

hey MANGOgirl, those are not tights …those are her legs and its the joint on the dress tht has fallen on her bare legs that makes it look like tights. the inside pics confirm it! and as far as freida is concerned…She’s back!! im so glad they did this fun and fresh and classy photoshoot with her. she looks so natural! not that typical dead pan or one hitched eyebrow photoshoot that seems to be a trend these days

  7. Fashionluvver says:

Wow! Such a fun cover! Totally refreshing!

  8. lurverlurver says:

half her face is covered up…?!?

  9. dn says:

Nice, although I like the picture in the link better.

I do want to see her in Naeem Khan sometime, and not just in the established designer brands.

  10. silpa says:

her body looks distorted – don’t like

  11. Ashi says:

    Such a fun cover!

  12. krk says:

This poze is really odd….seems like she was leaning on a table or something and then they took it away but she remained right there !

    LOVE her shoes !!

  13. sarah says:

    totally dig the shoes!!!! :)

  14. peechu says:

so much unnecessary photoshopping on the face..sighhh

  15. Ruhi says:

She hit it big and how! Gorgeous girl and gorgeous editorial.

  16. SK says:

    such fun!

  17. Nick says:

    why cover her face?

  18. Saniya says:

I love her on the cover, she looks fabulous..but I just think her face is too a tad bit too photoshopped.

  19. Kahlu says:

    Not flattering in my opinion.

  20. Amber says:

Vulgar, too much of skin show.

  21. PG says:

I agree. Lovely pic, but some windblown bed hair would go better with all the movement in the fabric. It seems like the fabric is flowing but the hair is just laying limp around her head.

  22. pdaervo says:

LOOVE IT! I could tell it was Frieda…

That’s an insane angle to pose in. Ok Ms. Pinto, point.

  23. KS says:

Plain simple layout.Nice. But when you use Frieda, you show the face :).

  24. clueless says:

umm.. I dont know.. there is just something off with it. And the pose is so awkward. It is as if she’s leaning on something that was later photoshopped out.

  25. Carol says:

What is there to like about this cover? The pose is ridiculous, the face is covered, the dress is ugly, the hair is limp, the shoes are too small and her toes are hanging over the front, her feet look huge, hands look weird, etc.

Come on this is an awful cover. They have managed to make Freida look average and awkward.

  26. divi says:

A failed attempt at making a fun and fresh cover mainly because of the extent of skin show. Also the post does not help either. Dislike!

  27. suchi says:

sorry i dont get it. looks pretty wierd. like the shoes but that is about it. ice skating, luge, downhill skiing???

  28. Kiwi says:

Love it, love it, love it… its a great cover.. so nice to see such a shoot after ages :) Frieda is back indeed

  29. that pose is really awkward. Makes her hips jut out and look really weird..

    Love the shoes though

  30. simran says:

I dont know, not liking it, something so off.. sure she has her elbows on a table and pshopped..

  31. hhc-addict says:

Looove it. Fun and fresh. Frieda is back …. and the shoes are totally droolworthy!!

  32. mary says:

I can’t get over how the crinkles in the fabric on the thighs looks like a bad case of stretch marks/cellulite. the pose looks awkward and forced, I don’t find anything natural about it.

    • giselle says:

and then if they’d photo-shopped those crinkles.. someone would have yelled photoshop..
      give it a break.
its fresh n breezy and its not BOLLYWOOD..

  33. jaz says:

    me no likey!

  34. Pv says:

Looks like ujjwala raut on the cover.

  35. sania chaudhri says:

im so happy too see a bit of leg on freida shes young,do it while you can,she has impeccable style but older than her yrs, this is refreshing!

  36. everyone wants to be a crtic says:

Its amazing how everyone on this site first complains of excessive photoshop on covers and then goes on to criticize the lack of photoshop on “crinkles on the thigh”. Lets admit it. We can never be HAPPY!! and for the few who are happy…good for you!! theres everything to be pleased about becuase this is not a plastic barbie who needs to stand in one particular way (that is aceptable on HHC) to pose for a cover. the cover in my opinion and i could get bashed for it, is just saying imperfections are cool too!! so the crinkled fabric, the awkward hand or pose or whatever it is we are complaining about is more candid than the pouting, dead pan dolls we see on covers. problem is the later is what we are conditioned to so we cant take change.

  37. giselle says:

    I heart this coverE
Experimental and pushing the boundaries of creativity.
It’s so effortlessly stylish — I heart chanel.
And it saves us from Bollywood reruns..

  38. Kish says:

while i totally understand that elle was trying to go for a fun cover, i don’t think they nailed it: her smile looks like the cat in alice in wonderland, her hair does her no favours, and the pose looks forceful.
as for those who call it slutty, why? you can’t even see any cleavage, it’s not like she’s posing seductively with a come hither look. yeah, her legs are seen through that sheer fabric, but, hello, don’t you wear swimsuits? haven’t you seen other actresses on magazine covers wearing less than that?

  39. Usha says:

Agree….. a bit slutty for my taste.

  40. goga says:

i don understand how can women like this stuff n appreciate it wen all these gimmicky pics are jus exploting women n treatin like a commodty…u apreciate it n they do it even more..very doon we ll see naked ladies on covers of indian mags..this is such an obsecen pics…call me feminist if u want…
