In Marchesa

Toronto, Hamptons, London and now Abu Dhabi. Freida has been quite busy promoting Miral but we are not complaining one bit. Because every appearance of hers means a sighting of the latest creations from the biggest fashion houses. For her Abu Dhabi appearance, Freida wore a pink Resort 2011 Marchesa gown with a mirrored bodice that she complemented with a gold clutch and gold heels. Love that she went jewelery-less to let the gown do the talking.

Thanks ‘dark and lovely’ for the news tip-off!

  1. Very elegant, nice and has a great body. But she and padma seems to be specific type of indian women preferred in the west.I find the differences in what is considered beauty here vs the west very interesting.Lot of my american friends even told me pinto is more beautiful than ash.Cultural differences in perceptions of beauty.

    • I find that people in the west find the darker indian women prettier/more exotic. Total opposite of the view in india. It probably explains why westerners love to get a good tan too. I have seen browning moisturisers in EU. And in india, we have fairness creams.

      • I’ve noticed that we westerners don’t insist on an almost infantile, round faced, short chinned & wide eyed look. Personally I like both sophisticated beauty as well as baby faces. As an adult, however, I can’t help but feel that the overemphasis on the look of extreme, almost unformed youth is pretty darned damning to any woman who is lucky/unlucky enough to outlive her mid 20s.
Also, we here are realizing that not looking like a Northern European white girl is NOT particularly “exotic” (meaning “from the OUTSIDE”) There are lots of places, India among them where white girls are the “exotic” ones. Forutnately for my daughters, with their mother of Mexican ancestry, western beauty is representing more of us since EVERYONE in the US at least, is from the outside. I’m always stunned when Indian’s refer to people FROM India as “exotic” looking while treating some Russian, or English looking woman as if she is the “standard by which God made all women”
Non white women can be SO beautiful too and not with beauty measured solely in how close they approximate a white girl either, but for their own features and in their own right. Heheh, let the foreign looking pale girls copy US for a change!

  3. She is a real representative of indian beauty. But sadly lot of indians find her average looking just because she doesn’t look fit into your typical(read very fair skinned) bollywood actress mould.

    • Deepika isn’t fair, she’s beautiful. Bipasha is dusky, she’s stunninggg. Chitrangda is dusky and beautiful.
But Freida is average…at least in my opinion.
