SO LUCKY.This is just unbelievable and she looks gorgeouuus! I guess the only way to get where she is is by not going to ‘Bollywood’ route but directly to Hollywood! Except she didn’t intentionally do any of this which is what is so unbelievably FRUSTRATING I WANT HER LIFE!

:( some girls have all the luck.. I mean.. Someone soooooooooo evryday-ish and look! Not that everyday girls dont deserve, but then we all deserve all this :P

@Surbhi-Do not agree with u there. That’s a lovely dress
…. & that smile of hers is infectious!!

  25. N at | | Reply

^what Adit says…and it’s been said time and again, but Frieda would look gorgeous in even a paper bag if she smiled. She’s no Cate Blanchett or Rinko Kikuchi, but one way or another, she’s made her mark- let’s just see if she can keep it up, acting-wise.

ha ha!! Jealous!! Yes….Freida Pinto makes me jealous!! I hate her so much….But what a great life story of Freida! Go girl! And she looks so cute here!

About the outfit itself, for once I wish she would have worn the same necklace and maybe even the two tone tights that the dress was presented with on the runway. Might have added an interesting element to an otherwise plain black look. Having said that, Freida looks good. And happy.

  32. neha at | | Reply

she is being treated like a hollywood a-lister … one lucky gal … the movie may be a hit, but the only actor to really get mileage out of it was freida … imagine Ash, struggling with blink-and-miss appearences in b grade hollywood films … and freida hits the jackpot without having to do any work …. in case anyone didn’t notice, i’m jealous, really jealous …
imagine the best designers pampering you, paying personal attention, front row seats… WOW!!!

  33. neha at | | Reply

and imagine all the free stuff she must be getting …

yes, i’m being cheap but can’t help it .. i keep dreaming up a walk in wardrobe overflowing with haute couture……….

Go Freida!! she looks radiant and lovely. Im so glad Danny picked her for this film. she’s been the best representative of India from the moment she made an appearance in the film and like pdaervo said….I too hope she can act !

Is there a woman on the planet who isn’t envious of her right now? Probably her mom. That’s it!

    …woah to frieda..love her!

  39. Sharin at | | Reply

Seriously stop with the comparisons of her and Ash.. Ash never tried to “make it big” in Hollywood.. she only acts in movies.. regardless of their location. A better comparison would be Parminder Nagra and Frieda. I heard Frieda got signed to be the face of Estee Lauder. 6 figure contract.

  40. nefertiti at | | Reply

Freida has managed to stay grounded through this whirlwind trip. That is something. Everyone has their eyes on her and she still manages to look calm, collected and gorgeous. She made the best of what was offered to her. I laud her for that. Hope she can act and continue her growth out here.

  41. Ritu at | | Reply

@Sharin: Ash never tried to make it big in Hollywood? HA HA HA. And HA. She didn’t succeed, that’s all.

I’m really glad Freida is going places. And all that while being herself. Go girl!

But this dress is a bit too simple for my taste.

  42. dn at | | Reply

Sharin, are you joking?? “She only acts in movies” – have you forgotten Ash’s appearances in Cannes for L’Oreal, and numerous ads and appearances. Ash tried very hard to make it big in Hollywood a few years ago. She made some very bad choices, like “Bride and Prejudice” instead of “Hitch”, which would have put her in Hollywood A-list.

Good for Freida. Yes…Am Jealous, but YOU GO GIRL!!!! YAY for Brown skin :)

  44. naka at | | Reply

Wow, if the mags and blogs I read are any indication, she is THE darling of the fashion world right now! Crazy rapid rise! Hope she does well in the Woody Allen film and uses her burgeoning style icon status to promote some up-and-coming Indian designers.

When I said that Ash only acts in movies… I didn’t mean that that is ALL she does, sorry that didn’t come across in my comment. What I meant to say is that I think she views a movie as just a movie.. not a “Bollywood movie” or a “Hollywood movie”. Yes, I do realize she does all this stuff for Loreal, Cannes, etc. My thing is, I don’t think that Ash is a stupid girl, I think she really just doesn’t give a damn about certain things and I think one of them was Hollywood, you might think differently but this is how I feel. She was a really, really well established star and she is someone who is very conscious about her appearance and reputation..and she also chooses things that are convenient for her and comfortable. I think she chose to do family friendly movies like Bride and Prejudice and Pink Panther, and whatever her reasons were for rejecting the Will Smith movies are unknown but she did say that she had her reasons. Basically.. she was offered tons of roles which she rejected due to prior commitments in Bollywood.. this girl was booked for two years in advance when Hollywood was calling.. so how can anyone say that she didn’t succeed..as if she was like rejected or something? If you think that being in a Will Smith movie will make you an A-list celebrity.. please do tell me the name of the girl in I Robot? Or the name of the girl in I Am Legend? Eva Mendez is probably the only girl in a recent Will Smith movie that you will remember, and she was already popular in Hollywood. Will Smith is the only one who benefits from a Will Smith movie.

Anyway, my point wasn’t that Ash tried or did not try in Hollywood.. my point was that she is not a good comparison for Frieda Pinto, and that Parminder Nagra is a good comparison as they both started off in off beat Hollywood movies rather than Bollywood ones. Ash had an entirely different looking career graph than Pinto and thus I feel they are incomparable.

N dudez.. I am so freaking jealous of Frieda. Like unbelievably jealous. I just finished watching so many youtube videos of her! I love her in interviews I think she is a breath of fresh air and she looks even more gorgeous in interviews than she does in a still photo! Wow! Seriously.. this girl.. has IT. I’ve been reading comments from people who said that she only had a two bit role in the movie and it’s not fair that she got all this attention is just so wrong. She totally deserves this attention.. this business is all about grabbing and maintaining the spotlight, and she did it so she deserves what she gets!

  49. Sharin at | | Reply

Oh my god I had NO IDEA my comment was that long.. I am so sorry for blabbing so much! Apologies all around

okay all lets be honest, I am happy for her but lets admit she aint diva, she is short dark skin simple girl who can give hope to all of us that you can be beautiful

  53. mg at | | Reply

i love freida’s black chanel dress. she’s looking great in it. i don’t think it’s correct to compare freida pinto to parminder nagra. i’ve met parminder and she’s a very different person from freida. i do think freida is more similar to aishwarya. parminder does not represent india at all. freida is an awesome representative for india as is aishwarya. freida and aish are both glamourous, fashionable and graceful.

  54. Sharin at | | Reply

@mg I don’t know anything about their personalities.. I’m sure they are all very different people. I merely meant career wise.

  55. Sharin at | | Reply

@mg… I think it’s best to say that it’s not correct to compare frieda to anyone really.. her story is her own and completely different from anyone elses! cheers :D

@me,short,dark-skinned girl? How does that stop her from being a diva?Isn’t Kylie Minogue short and Halle Berry dark?Indian retarded thinking at work again.Only fair is beautiful.

  57. rs at | | Reply

Lovely chanel dress!!! Chanel never disappoints. They had a great show this season, again.
Just cos people think Frieda is not pretty doesn’t mean its cos of her skin tone. If you see her face without make-up, it’s so plain and simple. They have her engagement pictures in the Indian media, and she looks like a girl next door. I guess her acting talent has got her this far…she was on the front row at chanel!

  58. Ritu at | | Reply

@ me I totally agree with P. I have to say, what an ignorant comment. Yes, Freida looks like an ordinary Indian girl. But she’s genuinely gorgeous. I think it’s high time we started realizing that ordinary Indian looks (which often includes dark skin) can be stunning. It’s a pity that we need Westerners to point this out to us.

  59. sudha at | | Reply

totally agree with Ritu: so-called “ordinary-looking” indian girls can often be perceived as super beautiful elsewhere! i have a friend who’s originally from Kerala, medium-dark skin (accrording to Indian standards). When she comes to visit me in Bombay, no one finds her pretty but when I go to visit her in Paris, everyone finds her gorgeous and she get’s stared at all the time on the street there!
