With there being so much volume in the outfit, a necklace that’s closer to the neck (choker), only adds more weight. We are guessing that’s what is making us not get on board with this look a hundred per cent.

It’s not everyday that Ms. Mirza disappoints in Indian-wear, however this one time we’ll have to call it a Not Quite. The whole effect is just overwhelming.

  1. Does the old rule of letting the bride shine in all her overdressed glory not apply any more? All these women are so blinged out nowadays at someone else’s wedding, no, just sangeet, I wonder what they’d wear to their own.. The clothes will just get shinier and gaudier and uglier in their bid to up the ante.

    • I think that’s a very Western rule..ALl my memories of Indian weddings are of women and girls going all out and wearing their finest…In fact many women dig out their bridal trousseau for a wedding, something that’s unthinkable in the West since the wedding in the West is all about the bride and her white gown.

      • I agree w u Sev. I always remember weddings to be all out dressed afair for every single person from the kids to the grandmas. All out in their best clothes. In the south, some women consider it lucky to have guests dressed in their own bridal sarees.. How lucky for the guests who get to wear their weddings sarees again and again.
