  1. Omgoodness! She looks terrible-from head to toe-LITERALLY! Her face is so lifeless! And the color of her shirt does nothing for her complexion. AND DONT even get me started on those ripped jeans-they are a BIG no no on any age group! What in the world were you thinking deepika???????

  5. Yes, yes we know you come from a sporty family. Now you can rest those shoes, Ts and jeans and get into some serious clothes. I wonder if Vogue can sue her for turning up like this?

  6. okay I KNOW the woman is beyond gorgeous, but seriously what was she thinking??? “Wow, Im on the vogue cover and I’m so hot that I’ll just show up in my grungiest jeans and a work out T-shirt and people will still worship me anyway?”
Seriously, she has the money, she has the body to carry anything off, and she has the perfect occasion to dress well for, so WHY cant she just dress well for god’s sake.
Oh yeah, I forgot its called TASTE. And clearly she has none

  7. why can’t these girls get the casual look right, for once? are they so dependent on their stylist that even a simple jeans and t-shirt look needs to be given guidance on?

  8. Extremely inappropriate for a launch, she looks so out of place BUT contrary to what others said, I do love her look. Perhaps we have been just socialised to believe that stars should wear pretty dresses wherever they go.

By the way, Kimz694, I am of Deepika’s skin tone and yellow does do wonders, trust me.

  9. This girl REALLY (had to use caps, can’t use italics) does not have a clue of how to do western… what a waste… hair included.

  10. speaking of socialisation, this has got to be the most unindividualistic, sheep type crowd of all fashion blogs ever.
90 percent of people here mirror ‘pnp’ thinking its actually their own behavior. research psychologists such as me will have a field day with this.
and sheesh, who decides what is ‘appropriate’ anyway, or for that matter what is ‘pretty’ or ordinary.
im all for fashion, but this is almost like a super caustic bitchfest.

  11. Second thought – I think she is attempting to be non stereotypical / predictable and fashion forward….. um…*scratches head*

  12. 3rd comment (have to vent this!) @ Vixen: Unfortunately the Vogue In. edition and Deepika are from the same grain in the fashion world; clueless

  13. Deepika is a gorgeous girl. But this outfit is not appropriate anywhere but at home. It is not even gym wear because who exercises in jeans?

She is not a fashionista and good for her. But at least go for simple and elegant which is rare in BW these days.

  14. lol…I don’t HATE the look per say, but I agree it’s not event appropriate. She could play badminton in this but it’s really not for launching Vogue lmao. That being said, the hair doesn’t go with the outfit and she could be the next model for Abercrombie:)

  15. ok.. she looks tired ..like she rushed into this from somewhere..

on a side note – i like her toned arms.. but she needs to get some good old ghee on her hips so that she doesnt look disbalanced..

  16. i think the top is fine for her. it is just the ripped jeans, even that would be fine the shoes are a def. no no.

but i think i will anyday take deepika’s lively face over other posers.

  17. Gosh if this girl was anymore bland she’d disappear. Don’t like anything about her outfit, her vogue photos are cool but without the excessive styling she is so vanilla so bland and so so forgettable.

  18. I think Deepika looks great here, she always gives good face, unlike Kareena who wears Armani dresses for brunch and still doesn’t look half as beautiful on GOOD DAYS. Maybe not totally event appropriate but perhaps Deepika was trying to be ironic? Or did anyone even consider that the organizers dressed her and that she didn’t have much choice in the matter? And why are all of you ripping on ripped jeans (sorry, I couldn’t help myself)? They are still in.
And by the way Vixen, I’m Singaporean and NONE of the numerous girls from India who attend my university look half as good as Deepika. Also Vixen, how would you distinguish ordinary from extraordinarily pretty? Would you think she was better looking if she was as pale as the underbelly of a dead fish like Kareena, whom everybody here seems to fawn over? And”BAAA” to the rest of you too.

  19. I do think this was what she was thinking: okay I KNOW the woman is beyond gorgeous, but seriously what was she thinking??? “Wow, Im on the vogue cover and I’m so hot that I’ll just show up in my grungiest jeans and a work out T-shirt and people will still worship me anyway?”

    someone said that above lol

  20. @cheshirekitty/ abnormal person,
she has the confidence and strong personality for “trying to be ironic”! but she is too much of a professional to go against the wishes of the Vogue people, i think.

i like ripped jeans too, but longer; my leggs are not that tall, but she can totally handle them.

yep, its funny that people here again and again say that she (and Priyanka Chopra in the other post) are average, girl next door and so on.

Well, I can tell you that if they walked down any street here anywhere in Europe, I am almost confinced that everybody will look at them. and if we got to know them, we would totally love them. but here confident, intelligence, strong personality, non-negativity etc. are considered attractive.

and they are A-list actors and stars in India, so they/you must like that too.

  21. coming to a VOGUE gathering wearing a very cheap very very cheap sporty ensemble who is her target, I think she is trying to insult someone by wearing this to a gathering of that nature

  22. you know, i don’t think her outfit suits the occasion. But I do think she looks great, here skin is glowing, and her figure has inspired me to hit the gym. It’s a fabulous casual look, just not suited for the event.

  23. So her hair’s all done nicely & she wears THIS OUTFIT!! Who the h goes to a Vogue launch dressed like this?!?!
As my someone very smart I know said: “There are specific ways to dress in specific situations. You wouldn’t go to the beach wearing a suit would you?”
