Deepika also was one of the many celebs to attended the Sabyasachi grand finale show of Lakme Fashion Week on Sunday evening. The actor picked a floral silk sari sporting it with a sleeveless blouse.

I have a feeling the verdict on this look will be polarized. Some of you may love the extreme dark lips and some of you will hate. Me, I think while in theory it was a good move to go dark, hers came off as two shades too much.

  1. She been killing it right from IIFA. Just so fierce and fabulous. I absolutely love the lips. We know how ethereal and soft she can look in sarees. Here’s she looks as fierce as goddess Kali! Love the saree. I’ve seen mint green and pista coloured floral prints done by sabyasachi before. And the embellish borders. But here they are together.

  2. i think the lipcolor works on her, because of her bone structure. on a less defined face, it would have ended up looking two dimensional. the sari looks like organza, not silk.

  3. I love the saree and the look, but it would’ve been even more fabulous if her lips were maroon or a deep deep red, it’s just a little too dark as it is

  4. I dislike not just that lip color but the half boob show as well. I thought this kind of boob/cleavage flaunt has become a thing of past. Such a beautiful saree gone wrong by that trashy draping.

  5. I don’t have a problem with the lip colour. The drape bothers me more, wish she had paid attention to that and let the saree speak more. Because of the sloppy drape, the dark lips are getting more prominence then required.

  6. Deepika makes a saree work almost every time she wears it. But those painted/tattoed eyebrows have taken away all the freshness from her face lately. I hope its not permanent. Used to love her face before.

  7. I can see where she was trying to go, but with no Bindi, no jewelry and no other color, the dark lip just adds tackiness to the already seemingly unfinished look.

  8. Somehow the otherwise statuesque Deepika looks totally overwhelmed by this saree. It’s hanging on her and not falling gracefully at all. No accessories plus that lip color make this look feel very thoughtless. Like her stylist got bored and demotivated midway and decided to just let her walk out like that. A pair of beautiful purple stud earrings, a softer hair do and a toned down lip in the same dark shade would have worked.

  9. Never mind the lip colour cos Deepika has donned dark lip colour many a times that now it just doesn’t seem to be a big deal .! But I take issue with the hair for making it seem too oily and greasy too!! Looks like she is having one of those bad hair days we have where we feel our hair is too dirty and greasy and we are rushing to work that we just pull up into a ponytail, not wanted to touch or strike out hair during the day ..!

  10. Is she teaching how NOT to wear saree??
    Nothing is going well.
    1. Bad drape
    2. Fit of the blouse is bad
    3. Bad hairstyle
    4. This saree is begging for minimal accessories
    5. If the lipstick was a shade darker, may be i would have thought that she mistakenly applied her kajal as lipstick
