In Sabyasachi

Wearing a hand-painted floral sari from Sabyasachi‘s latest Udaipur collection, Deepika attended the CNBC India Business Leader Awards on Thursday evening.

You’ll remember Ms. Padukone going very wrong with her first pick from his Lakme collection. That was not an issue here obviously.

While, overall, I thought she looked good, I do wish she’d not done the winged eye. Only because the middle-parted sleek ponytail was a strong element already.

P.S. Her jewellery is from Jaipur Gems.

  1. Deepika in a sari can never go wrong, she looks royal. The eyeliner is fine, hardly big or thick enough to be a distraction in this case, the only issue like always is the middle parted hair which she needs to stop doing so much.

    • This has been a problem for a long time now. Even the eyeliner has now become “stretched” far too much for her good. Alas, because this beautiful saree deserves much better than the severe elements that have now become synonymous with her style.

You’ve gotta wonder why she favours this whole look so much when it makes her features look so pinched and unappealing.

    • Where it concerns the hairstyle, I think it’s a result of so much styling over the years, which is why she’s always sporting sleek/flat hairstyles. It’s sad because it makes her look so much older than she is. Agree about the eyeliner, blouse, etc.

  2. This severe hair suits only his models because they will wear either a mathapatti, big jhumkis, bindi or even all together to distract from hair style or perhaps the hair is pushed back to showcase the jewelry. As is, I dislike the hair on her,
a loose bun and a small bindi would’ve made it a prettier look.

    • Lol! But they are fashion critiques and from what I know the qualifications to be one doesn’t require them to be fashionistas themselves. A film critic is not a film maker! Get the drift?

    • Sara…we need to know…what are the qualifications needed to be a commenter here? Do we need to be better-looking than ALL the celebs featured? Do tell.

  4. Quite stunning! However, agree with PnP about the winged eye, and I wish Deepika would do a side-parted bun instead of this severe center-parted one. Open hair would have added too much volume.

    • How is anything they wrote ‘mean’? For the umpteenth time on this blog, you Deepika fans need to stop taking offense to everything. People critique a look for the LOOK, not the PERSON. (Besides, Deepika is one of the most beautiful celebs featured here so if something’s being disliked about her looks, then maybe she’s really not getting it right).

  5. Gorgeous! Also her left profile looks way better than her right profile (2nd row, 1st pic, looks like a different deepika!) #justsaying

  6. I feel P&P are biased against Deepika…I’m no DP fan and some of her recent styles have been quite bad…but u guys somehow always take a dig at her even when she is looking quite smashing, like in this one. Since when did middle parting become a strong element? so much so to be clashing with winged eye? Don’t see you critiquing looks like this for others
