Deepika on Harpers Bazaar:(Un)Covered

I love bow-ties (on men and on women) which is why now that I’ve seen how this D&G dress was presented on the runway, am not liking it at all on Deepika. The stylist just took away the best part about it. How do you like the cover?

  1. Actually, I like better on Deepika. Runway look is more stiff and to me it only look good on runway. it also looks bit masculin–therefore I opt for softer look of Deeps.

  2. Off with the sarees finally! Deepika looks great – I can’t really imagine how the bow-tie would make her look better or understand how it can become the best part of this dress? I love these crochet-type dresses! Love it!

    • yeh! love it on deepika…and love love love the crochet! that’s the main highlight of the dress to me anyways…bow-tie is just an addition. not the mainstay

  3. I like the dress better on Deepika than the model, maybe because it seems to highlight Deepika’s gorgeous flawless skin. She looks like in a dream

  4. i like it better on Deepika actually, i am hating the bow tie on the model and that opened shirt is totally highlighting Deepika’s gorgeous bone structure

  5. My sentiments exaaactly. I think it kills the dress? If the bow was too bold for Deepika to pull off for everyday wear I understand, but certainly not too strong for a cover? Wonder what the stylist was thinking?

  6. I quite liked the cover and the dress looks cool on her too..But I agree with you, The bow-tie was indeed the chic element of the outfit!

  7. Completely agree with PnP. Unlike the title “Daytime Chic” Deepika doesn’t look chic at all. In fact, she has “oh look at me I could be sexy look”. They took the right dress and made it wrong! Bad styling.

  9. bow tie or no bow tie the dress in itself doesnt look anything like a bazaar cover. a dull white and black combo dress with washed out makeup n hair!?? gimme some red lips, flowy dress, flowers..!!

  10. Bow tie wouldve looked too harsh for the cover even though its good on the runway. And maybe Sonam could’ve carried it off but its so not Deepika’s style. Agree with the stylist here….Deepika looks good!

  11. I love the bow tie on the dress and it gave the dress that extra edge…the styling on deepika unfortunately has reduced it just another dress…

  12. With bow tie=more Sonam-esque
    Without bow tie=Totally Deepika.
Love the cover. Love the dress and simply LOVE the hair and how it looks on her.

  13. deepika looks nice …. a bow tie ….. ummm …. real life – no, but on a cover – why not….. A lot of covers just want to look ‘pretty’
…. these days, no one does quirky, fun, edgy, whimsical etc etc ….

its a pretty standard far –
beautiful actress + designer dress + fan blown hair with extensions = magazine cover.

  14. Dpad as always looks great, and a neat D&G creation. they left the bow tie out to highlight her collar bones, lovely skin… yes, skin show was the reason to throw away the bow tie 🙂
