Deepika on Verve:(Un)Covered

September 1st, 2010 at 5:45 pm . by Payal

We may not have been fans of the Harper’s cover but loving Ms. Padukone on the September Bridal special edition of Verve India. Ms. Padukone wears a hot off the couture runway Anamika Khanna lehenga with a velvet blouse.

P.S. What is it about the bridal issues that makes Verve also feature Vuitton on the cover. Remember this? A subtle way of implying that only Vuittons can help carry the heavy duty bridal wear? :P

i wish she’d loosen up her shoulders a tad.

  7. viz says:

    great cover

  8. Hema says:

Love the smoldering look she’s got. I don’t think this has been photoshopped to death…maybe smoothing out skin tones. But she has a great figure and the whole outfit looks regal on her. Hate the juxtaposition of the LV though; nice ornate old fashioned trunk would have looked more fitting.

  9. Mim says:

Can I *Drool*? Sister looks HOT!

  10. kasthuri says:

Love the dress on her skin colour. Beautiful jewelry. Still not a fan of her “chaathi thaan ne waala” posture. She always always has it and its a bit masculine.

    • fashionluvver says:

      LOL@chaati taan ne wala :)

I agree, its awkward. It’s fine on the ramp, but ALL the time, it just looks strange.

      • shilpi says:

yeah true ..this posture i m soo bored of it ..not sure if you wld ever see a real bride jutting herself out so much …she needs to get little “real” in her poses

    • Andrea says:

I usually have a problem with that posture of hers, but I think it looks fine on the cover.

  11. chitown-fashionista says:

  13. emem says:

    more pics please

  14. SM says:

Like. The tikka almost gives her that celestial quality. And those eyes…it seems that she can get up and seduce anyone she wants. Elegant and sexy…great styling.

  15. Josh says:

The Indian market’s obsession with designer accessories emblazoned with logos is somewhat ridiculous. The art of subtlety is lost particularly with the celebrities.

  16. KityPurry says:

I like! LOVE the Anamika Khanna lehenga!! But I dislike her posture..it’s too stiff.

  17. miumiauw says:

The LV bags and cheap looking background ruins it for me.

  18. AB says:

    LOVE the lehenga!

  19. Arti says:

Wow she looks so good! the blouse fits so well, I guess the marron colour is back in fashion (seeing her lasdt two appearances on here). Love it love it love it!

  20. Deena says:

me likey…although the LV advertising is a bit out of place..

  21. Sindhu says:

Love the cover, thankfully it is not heavily photoshopped… Love Love the LV trunks that vogue always has on display in the bridal specials….

  22. p says:

more like vuitton’s paid for the shoot!!

  23. Saffana says:

I don’t really like the lehenga on the ramp……but it looks amazing on deepika.

  24. Sudha says:

Deepika looks nice as always – but on just how many mag covers do we have to see Deepika/Genelia/Kareena/Lara… ??? Indian fashion mag editors have no imagination.

  25. zainab says:

is the LV paying these magazines for advertising their things so loudly and clearly? otherwise I don’t understand advertising for things and don’t get paid for it.
