      • Her face and hair looks gorgeous as always but yes, the main thing I see is nightwear. Perhaps if the dress didn’t have a sheer midriff it would have looked less like a (pretty) nightdress.

  2. Although she looks gorgeous.. the look still leaves me craving for some color which she could have added in the form of accessories.
On a side note, she looks gorgeous as a southern village belle in the movie.

    • *Drool…If there’s one store I could raid and grab everything in sight (minus the repercussions, of course) , it would have to be Amrapali…what exquisite designs they have to offer! *still drooling….

  3. Gorgeous! I hope at least in this movie the director/actor doesnt do nonsensical stereo typing of Tamils. It was pretty stupid in Ra one. And pay enough to get some decent tamil tutored for the dialogues.

    • +1. Looking at the poster (deepika wearing a lungi with big boxer shorts underneath and a knotted shirt), i have my expectations set low. Very low.

      • Probably have to lower them further. Just saw the trailer. Wept at the imitation-zari-panel-border sarees and Deepika’s heavily stereotyped character’s horrible accent. Cursed the Director.

    • Tough luck on that note.. it’s terrible. I watched the trailer – the accent is awful and its just plain humiliating – as if all Tamil girls are naive half-sari clad damsels in distress and their dad’s are all some kind of village dons! On an aside, DP looks ah-mazing!

      • thought as much… its someone trying to sound like Sridevi when she attempted comedy based on her accent, but that was classic .. this is crap…

    • Yenna madam, yenna rascala, hamako ‘indi toda toda maloooom…the trailer seems to be along the same lines.

I’ve lived in Chennai, have Tamilian friends, and not one of them speaks Hindi in the accent typified by B’wood. In fact, none of the Tamilians that I’ve known speak Hindi in that accent. Maybe there’s a whole, hidden population of Tamilians who do speak like that – I mean, where else did they get this stereotype from?

I guess in B’wood, just like the hearty, khata peeta Sardar/Sardarni, the drunk, comical Christian/Goan uncle and the eccentric Parsi Pestonji aunty, the lungi wearing, sickle wielding, curd rice worshipping, Hindi-butchering Madrasi (term used for all South Indians) is here to stay!

  4. Am I the only one who doesn’t think its all that? There’s nothing wrong with it, its nice and she looks lovely as ever but its just a bit….same old same old. A bit blah…..:/

  5. She looks fabulous n I esp love the outfit.
However, it looks incomplete without a dupatta. If not around the neck or on shoulder, even if it was carried in the crook of her arm it’d be a 100% for me. As is, she still makes it to a 98% 🙂

  7. I thought this was a MM outfit. So similar to all those outfits MM designed in the film Dil to Pagal hai and continues to churn out with floor length kurtas and see through midriffs paired with some pants. . All these designers are beginning to look the same now!
No denying she is looking lovely though.
