I don’t understand how she thought a powder blue knee-length chiffon dress would work for a night out. OTOH if it’s a day look, I luuurrve it.

So nice to see her do simple for once. I think she looks beautiful and I definitely don’t miss her trademark bouffant style hair and ox blood lipstick.

I LOVE Deepika…and it’s hard to go wrong with that gorgeous face and rocking body. But, having said that….she looks appropriately dressed for a summery day event. Wish she chose a little dressier outfit.. more suited for this event.

Wow this dress is DIVINE. The length, the colour, the fabric, so delicate and gorgeous.

She looks lovely as does the outfit. I agree with mockjay that it would’ve been a better daytime look.

Looks like an old lady dress right out of Sonam Kapoor’s closet. I had 70 year old school teachers who wore dresses like this while teaching chemistry!

This colour suits her skin tone and she rocks this simple dress, thanks to her good height. Looking very elegant.

I so loved d look! Really tired of seeing the trend of adding one printed or colourful item to the attire ! Everyone is doing it! This makes such a welcome change..!

Love it. Wouldn’t change a thing. A refreshing break from all the black. She looks stunning.

I think she looks amazing and young, a printed item may have elevated the look, but she looks great as she is :) And surprisingly this color on her works for a night out!

She looks amazing. And what may have been a day look on others, on her looks perfect in the night too. There is no need to add any printed item, in fact she looks like a classic Yash Chopra heroine with all of those pastels.

I thought fashion was about having fun and looking good, I didn’t know there were obsessive rules/herds here too.

    Perfection, thou art Deepika Padukone.

+1000. I don’t understand these antiquated rules either. This look perfectly works on her at night as well.

completely underwhelmed. She has so much to offer….and she turns up in this.

I agree with others about this being more appropriate for a daytime look. Also, is it just me or did Jacqueline wore something very similar a while ago ?

I think you are wrong there! Printed item would have just spoiled the look. This is a perfect classic look no matter what the season or time of the day. Deepika looks great!

I looove this look! And I agree.. So refreshing to see a simple and pretty look. While some were overdressed, she stands out :)

I think she looks great. The dress is nothing much to talk about – but she looks elegant and color looks divine on her skin tone. I know this is more suited for a day look, so I wish she had jazzed it up with her shoes to make it a evening look.

She looks gorgeous! I think it’s a look that can be worn either in the day or in the evening, and there’s something really easy, breezy about this look that I like.

I for one loved the simplicity and everything about the look!! Gorgeous and so unexpected.

She looks great! Assuming there was no dress code at the event, going by how the others were dressed, she’s turned up quite simple and pretty for someone’s birthday party. Dislike the accessories but love the hair, dress, makeup. And of course, like Aishwarya Rai, Deepika cannot go too wrong with that beautiful face.

PnP looks like u r going places atleast in Bwood. But the burden of fame – Comments reek of PR work.
She looks like a elementary teacher or a young mom going to a kids party. Nothing special, nothing bad.

I really wish people would stop trying to categorize looks. Granny, preschool teacher blah blah. Not everything is so strict.

Anyway I think she looks great and yes while its probably more day timey its not too out of place. Esp. compared to Katrina’s. I believe people are criticising Deepika for wearing something more appropriate for day time and not Katrina. Did you guys see what she was wearing??

    1. Dee at | | Reply

Thank you! I was thinking of the same thing!

Addition of print would have been too predictable though might have made it more of an evening look but honestly, it is so charming the way it is that it’s fine. The simplicity and colour are absolutely lovely on her.

She looks beautiful. Love the colour of the dress. Printed accessories would have ruined the simplicity of the dress

Be it day or night, what counts is the confidence of carrying a certain outfit elegantly. While everyone is trying hard with newest fashion trends this look of deepika is simply graceful. Birthday bash is a friendly atmosphere and this look fits well with the occasion.

I think she looks great! This has a vintage Parsee/ Christian vibe to it (in a good way of course). Reminds me of Tina Munim in Baaton baaton mein. I like!
