… I’m a little underwhelmed. I can’t quite pinpoint why I don’t like it. She doesn’t look bad by any account but… I don’t know, I keep picturing Neetu Singh when I look at this.

It’s the fit at the waist that’s culprit. Ms. Padukone looks gorgeous as always.

who on earth was the kurta designed for…a NBA player???I mean, come on, if it’s sweeping the floor with Deepika and the enviable height that she has, what chance do vertically challenged folks have?!

She looks lovely and dignified. I think Sabya was trying to go for dignified with Vidya at Cannes but he failed miserably.

Love it! Was waiting for YJHD to hit the cinemas! I’m gonna go watch it tomorrow! She looks smashing!

The fit of the dress is totally off. If Ms. Padukone can’t pull it( Abu-Sandeep) off what chance does Aishwarya Rai have. That said, she does look elegant( makeup and attitude wise)

This look really ages her, she looks mid to late 30s

Was going to say this. I’m all out for her choice of going the desi way (after all the movie is in hindi) but that outfit is the color made of used Swiffer dusters. Drab!

HOW can this girl do NO wrong??? HOW? Dang, she looks simply superb. I love the fact that she wears kolapuris and looks so damn cool! Love it!

The look is off because of the design on the churidhar. wish she had gone with a plain cream. would have elevated the look.

She looks nice and that is a perfectly nice outfit, but after seeing her in cool and fun clothes for the last month, this ages her. Maybe with some colour it would have popped.

Not a fan of the kurta but hey it’s Deepika and she makes it work. Very elegant and i love the confidence she carries in her appearances.

May be the asymmetrical hem is a little too long (Deepika is tall and it looks long on her) but it’s a lovely kurti. she look good.

Love the look but wish she had worn strappy high heel sandals with it.

She looks amazing !! I love that she still kept the flats/kohlapuri in this dressed up look. And what a elegant way to combine 2 designers.

Fab! she could wear a potato sack and still look gorgeous! Thumbs up Deepu!

Asymmetric is in ??? PRAY WHY ??? WHY??

Deeps looks good here, c’mon she can look good even in a jute douche bag man!

I am not a big fan of asymmetrical hem lines … But this girl works everything…. It’s such a nicely put together look… Love her updo ….

I somehow don’t like the idea of a traditional chridaar kurta minus a dupatta. U want to go mod, use a stole use something but without it – it’s incomplete. Just wear pants instead n don’t do traditional.
    It’s a gorgeous suit btw.

I’m sorry, I don’t love :( The only part I love is the footwear. Love the Kohlapuris.

That b’ful face managed to save this look…don’t like the hemline :\

The Kurta looks modern while the chuidhaar & flats look traditional and hence don’t go well together.
    But she looks nice.

that is good, and very surprising, i thought she’ll come dressed in something other than this. btu those asymmt’cal hems bring some funk

i just saw the film, and she has acted so well in it,, very subtle. she & Aditya Roy Kapur stood out for me..

anyway this look is pretty & sombre.. no pop of colour ha? love the earrings. she looks very dainty & delicate despite being so tall.

Deepika looks so damn good, every single time I see her. I am so glad no ones tagged her the ‘fashionista’ yet else she would fall under this crazy pressure and start looking ridiculous as Sonam does now.

  25. Princessruchi at | | Reply

This look does NOTHING for her. The tailoring is so so off. And her bouffant always makes her look masculine. Going by what others wore at the screening, she was totally out of place. A dressy solid maxi and drop earrings would have worked better….

  26. Alltheprettycolors at | | Reply

Hate the current high-low trend- it doesn’t look good on anyone. The churidar print make her legs look like they have scales. And where’s the dupatta? Makes the outfit look awkward and incomplete. Not flattering even on a girl whose bod was built for fashion!

    1. kiwi at | | Reply

      +1 Not working at all

  27. begum at | | Reply

a side parting on the bouffant and that slight cat eye makeup would have worked even more. summer chic.

  28. Shenaz at | | Reply

I am not a fan of this assimetrical look.
She looks nice from waist up, and the churidar is aso beautiful! Pity about the hem line.

  29. Aarthy at | | Reply

So blah.. She looks like a fly in the second pic. Dress is too monochrome..hair bun too severe and what’s with the dark red nail polish. Earrings could’ve atleast been better.

Suit was too grand to b wore wid those chappals :(
    She looked lovely thou

I dont like… dont know what exactly is wrong but it ages her.. and its not a high low its a -the-sides-are-hanging kurta which is strange!

Ah the benefits of being a tall model.
