Red Hot! Or Not?

At the London premiere of XXX: Return Of Xander Cage, Deepika was seen in a red Stella McCartney gown, one that she wore with her hair half-up, half down.

Even with the bold color, her look here felt a lot more tame compared to her Mexico outing. Having said that though, while I think she looked nice, the long diamond Chopard earrings didn’t seem to have that impact as they should’ve. I think she should’ve gone for statement diamond studs and worn some chunky diamond bangles/cuffs over the sleeve.

What say you?

On an aside, remember Ms. Padukone’s love for triple strap sandals? We now have her wearing on in a red satin version. See Here.

  1. Love! I think her makeup on this run in Mexico, US and London is on point, especially with those eyebrows – they looked overdone in Indian appearances.

Though, I have to say, those sleeves are bringing out punjabi mother like feelings to yank them up lest they’d get in the way or get dirty. Wish they were a bit shorter, they are leaning on the side of sloppy.

  2. Come on HHC, you are picking on her earrings when her obviously sack like dress is staring at you! Her makeup and hair seems great and I like the use of the earrings. However the dress seems like a sack and would’ve fared much better if fitted to form and also if the sleeves were tight and not hanging.

  3. If she (or her stylist) was going for the British fashion house to a London premiere route, she should’ve opted for a McQueen or even a Burberry instead of this McCartney
Stella only does basics well, as can be seen from this buffoonery.

  4. what a monstrosity of a dress! Can’t believe it’s a Stella McCartney! If a dress can make this statuesque woman look bad, it’s a horrid dress, period! agree about the need for statement studs and bracelets, but not over the sleeves. those sleeves are hideous and i am itching to pull them up. hair is BORING and for some reason, she is posing awkwardly in these pix in a very self-conscious way that’s not coming off well on camera. such a shame, for such a stunningly beautiful woman.

  5. For the life me I can’t understand why she cannot own a look confidently??? She has the perfect face ; perfect body; she should be able to carry even a sack better……But she lacks the spunk and confidence and personality without which all looks are bland and booooooring….Sigh…..

  6. I dont think these are the best quality pictures as I have seen better ones on Instagram. The photographs I have seen shows the earrings in a much better light and they do look well put together with the gown. I absolutely love the gown. Its good to see DP exploring other styles and she wears it well. I am loving her recent minimalist makeup for recent events.

  7. The color looks gorgeous on Deepika. The top half of the gown is just too roomy; the silhouette of the bottom half looks good though, making her look even taller. Fab hair and make up though.

  8. Elephant in the room is the gown itself. is all kinds of wrong. Upper part of the gown is so unflattering, shapeless and oversized. Hair is blah. Not an impressive appearance at all.

  9. I might be in the minority but i like the gown. It’s different and deepika is carrying it gracefully . Love that her eyebrows are better made now. She might not be the spunkiest person but i disagree to the a statement that she is not confident. We have seen deepika owning her outfits no matter how weird they have been. She is doing the same here

    • +1 ……..if only all the gowns look alike. It might not be a great one but she sure looks nice. The sleeves are meant to be the way they are and not to be fitted, sack like and what not…she works that well

  10. Okay, i’m just going to pretend I didn’t see that gown. Neck up, she looks divine! Her make-up has been on point lately, she should hold on to this MUA.

  11. Neck up – she looks gorgeous. And the color looks fabulous on her. Its a shame that the gown is such a bad design. The upper portion looks like it has been worn backwards. I wish the gown was better, and this would have been a home run.

  12. The gown is really not up to the mark to be worn at your own movie premiere. Bad choice!!! Neck up however its a different story…she looks ravishing…makeup is toned down and fabulous!!!

  13. Love the colour on her but I’m not a fan of the structure of the dress with the exaggerated armpits (how else to put it?) and extra long sleeves. I think a statement ring would have worked from a styling perspective. Face is as gorgeous as ever and the bod is as killer as ever!

  14. She looks like the red carpet herself. She should make use of her wonderful body and show that off rather than the clothes. I don’t mean that she needs to wear less, but she needs to choose her fabrics and shapes.

  15. I hate to say it but I don’t like this look at all. Especially because she’s trying to break out in a new market, she needed something that would really make her pop. Her makeup looked lovely but I wish the gown had been something more classic.

  16. She’s not looking confident at all and that’s all that matters… if you’re feeling confident from inside then you can make a newspaper dress work on you.

  17. Jesus Mary Joseph….. Deepika please fire your stylist immediately….. The dress seems to have been ordered from cheap online store….. Its ill fitting and disastrous……

Make Up, Hair and Accessories are spot on…..

  18. This dress very likely looks great in motion..I can picture interesting movement happening in the top half. Pity it doesn’t look quite as good when the wearer is just standing around.

  19. Actually I am finding this whole look quite refreshing! Gone are those tightly pulled hair, garish eyebrow fillings, jarring make up! This is refreshing from head to toe! Her Make up artiste has really pulled it off this time! I think she’s letting the gown do the talking here. Very natural and very chic! This to me is a welcome change! Bravo Deepika!

  20. She isn’t looking tacky, that’s enough for me. And not every red carpet gown has to be skin tight or sheer to look sexy. DP looks glamorous and fresh. Most importantly her skin looks amazing!

  21. Neck up she looks gorgeous. The gown makes her seem like she does not have any boobs at all, while the ruffle part-sleeve(?) starting off from the hip is all kinds of weird.
