she loves these sandles… dosent she…? she has worn them before :)
this woman has really gud posture…

i like the dress but by keeping in ming how gorgeous she is, she should have worn a similar grey belt with a grey flat pumps.

I hate her hair, its too soapstar type, straight hair with volume will rock this look.

    Argh! take those bangles off

Yellow and black. At least I feel like a bee with that combination. The horizontal lines of the sandals add to the effect…

The sandals ruins the whole look. Love to see her in heels more often. (Sonam Kapoor also wears flats all the time)

Sonam matches her clothes to her shoes much better than Deepika…I agree she wears flats but she doesn’t wear sandals all the time. Some good black patent ballet flats would have been better with this outfit.
And whatever happened to her cute short hair?

      1. Anubha at | | Reply

Sonam and Deepika both are very tall , and tend to tower over men all the time. Hence they prefer to wear flats. But one has to give credit to Sonam for wearing good flats.Deepika on the other hand prefers to stick to gool ol in teh fashion gladiator flats .Deepika take a cue from Sonam .

LOVE the color, hate the hair. MANGOgrl has nailed the hair bit. The footwear is less than optimal, but, I’ll take it. I don’t like the accessories period.

So the question becomes, can that dress salvage it all? The answer is yes. Gorgeous overall.

Aw.. I really wanna like this, but can’t bring mysef to it. The colour looks amazing on her skintone, but the sequins and the thin straps make it look cheap.. She would look amazing with big va va voom hair. I love her eyebrows though, they are perfect!!
Oh and is it just me, or is she looking extra skinny these days?

wow..maybe it’s the color of the dress..but head-to-toe, this gal looks FABulous!!

I don’t really like the styling of it but I do love the dress on her!

Nope don’t like this fusion i.e rugged sandals & delicate dress combo!! Even otherwise I didn’t like the dress esp. with that humongous black belt…
Please Please Please Deepika….get those blowfish sandals outta your wardrobe!! Don’t want to see you in those again!! It’s a dreadful sight!!

  12. Amber at | | Reply

What a refreshing, bright and gorgeous color!!! A big break from the usual blacks, beige, reds we see around here. She’s totally rocking the look but yeah, I’d definitely change those sandals.

  13. probster at | | Reply

she’s got such a delightful face and the dress looks great on her. But…I want to throw those sandals in the pacific. Its outdone its allowed appearances in front of the camera!

You should forgive sonam and deepika for wearing flats. At 5’8″ I feel like a giant even in 2-inch heels. And i live in the US where girls are usually taller.
AT 5′ 9″ these girls would def be feeling too tall in heels. So no surprise that they often choose flats!

  15. Tina at | | Reply

So much yellow with black combo reminds of taxis. hehe. Other than the shoes, hair (hair’s yuck!) and bangles, she looks great.

  16. PV at | | Reply

I can’t remember her looking her best in a very long time. She always looks as if she has dressed below potential. She could have made this look ultra glamourous but instead with gladiators and the thick black belt reduced the overall impact.

  17. pdaervo at | | Reply

it’s like she’s a barbie doll that someone dressed up
    she looks uncomfortable

    1. Swank at | | Reply

Exactly my thoughts! She looks rather uneasy in that dress. Kareena, on the other hand, wore that dress with way more confidence!

      1. marky at | | Reply

eactly my thots too :). love the color of the dress but not the belt detail. i liked the red version on kareena better. kareena almost always looks confident and ups the glam quotient.

      me too.l.me too…

y does she always look so awkward and the way she stands and speaks…its like shes still not comfortable in the limelight..

  18. Angel at | | Reply

These sandals are something I would wear with a pair of shorts/ a casual cotton dress/ a playsuit… not a sequined dress for heaven’s sake !!!! for some reason, I think this dress spells the antithesis of class.. do not dig it AT ALL

Dress is okay ,shoes are bad ,hair ,makeup ,posture is good

Love the dress on her. It’s a perfect outfit to showcase her nice long legs.

When I saw the second picture I was like “Acck I can’t beleive even DEEPIKA can take a bad picture”. I thought she was as infallible as gravity.
I think the sandals are meant to tie into the belt, so they’re not unforgivable.
Also I don’t want to be the grammar police (because I really really hate the grammar police), but “more simpler” guys? Lol…sorry for the point out. Don’t banish me from the blog :)

I have a question — what kind of bra (if any) could you wear with this dress?

    1. Saya at | | Reply

Backless and strapless stick on bras. They have silicon and the non-silicon ones too.

  23. mary at | | Reply

the casualness of the sandals does not gel with the formal dress at all! besides how tacky are her extension. She looks so much better in short hair.

  24. Flaneur at | | Reply

take away the sequins and its perfect….i actually like the sandals teamed with this particular dress….n oh PnP ‘more simpler’…eh?:))

  25. RM at | | Reply

I will take the hair as is.. teh black belt also.. but the sandals and the bangles.. they need to go..

  26. s at | | Reply

she has to wear flats due to farhan i suppose.. but the face is good. Deepika is always atleast good with facial make up.

every one else overdoes their face esp. Kareena.

  27. it at | | Reply

frankly speaking she needs to hire a stylist.

  28. Nina at | | Reply

    It’s just all wrong here.

  29. Akshu at | | Reply

she looks just fine…not a bad look at all…I agree with a few others that perhaps she’s lost too much weight..where’s the glow??

  30. Tongue in Chic at | | Reply

Don’t like the dress. Deepika’s so pretty, I’m not sure why she always falls short of amazing in her public appearances.

I’d love to see Deepika rock some heels. So what if she’d tower over three-quarters of the men in Bwood? :)

She’s been looking pretty gaunt lately. Like, bobblehead skinny. :-/

  32. DressyDresser at | | Reply

Awww, she looks so washed out and weak. Very off…lost too much weight in very little time. Her arms look REALLY bad. And the dress and shoes and accesories are as usual, boring and bakwaas.Very MEH look. And the hair makes it worse.

  33. Stuti at | | Reply

Naah, me doesn’t like the shoes. I agree with Andie though, the woman is TALL, I can understand why she’d be more comfortable in flats. And oh, I love the yellow on her. Very summery.

  34. J at | | Reply

Deepika looks pretty confident in her movies. The promos of Kartik show her looking pretty hot. But when it comes to public appearances, she always looks uncomfortable in her skin. She needs to ooze a but if attitude in her dressing up and she can look awesome.

  35. Chocolate Martini at | | Reply

You know what I am thinking? That the thick black high-waisted belt on a backless dress is going to look VERY strange if you look at her from behind.

Anyway the yellow is so fab on her I am even willing to forgive those glads, but there is NO pardoning her hair. Why Deepika Why? You are SUCH a gorgeous, graceful, statesque woman! Now do justice to it!!

  36. TumHum at | | Reply

Why is she always so stiff in her posture? as if someone forced her.
i like her look and her bangles

  37. HK at | | Reply

Wow, Deepika looks HOT! i think this is one of her best appearances so far! The shoes may be a little off, but I think they provide some interest to the outfit.

I absolutely luuurve the dress on her! She carries it so well and looks absolutely gorgeous! Go easy on the sandals, they’re not that bad. We dont have to criticise a look just for the heck of it!
    Kudos Deepika – Style icon!

horrible gladiators…y doesn’t she ditch them?

  42. sri at | | Reply

gladiators are a substitute for flip flops. will someone tell this girl? its for casual wear
the belt with a backless dress…whoa. she loves belts liek michelle obama, doesnt she?
hair- too formal for that dress. if only she had let it down..nice and easy
a gorgeous smile for the summery yellow outfit – someone like genelia wud totally rock it! here it looks meh
