In Sabyasachi

Ms. Padukone continued the desi streak wearing a Sabyasachi sari at a special screening for Aarakshan. We think she looked lovely but would’ve preferred the hair pulled back and the make-up less bronzed.

  1. I love this colour combination. I have a similar saree (not a sabya or as glittery) and always receive compliments. Long sleeves on the blouse with “subtle” work is such a nice touch… She looks lovely.

  2. well, neck up, as usual, DP can’t be faulted. the sari is SO pretty but the blouse totally butchers the whole look. even generally, DP needs to wear blouses that cover more of her stomach or wear the sari higher on her waist. really wish people would wear a sari it’s meant to be worn.

    • i agree. I like the bindi on her and the saree and make up are not bad.
But the blouse and her seena-thaan-ne-waala pose killed the look.

    • I agree, but usually she’d wear that teeny tiny blouse with the pallu all pinned up on one shoulder so you’d see her entire waist then! So this is very covered up for her. Very pretty saree though.

    • she definitely needs a longer blouse. I am really tall myself and have an issue with the sari length where I sometimes need to tie the sari lower than I would like…so the solution is a longer blouse

      • Especially with her long torso, she needs to wear a longer blouse…why doesn’t anybody advise her?
otherwise, she looks statesque!! Awesome stature….i believe she’s like those victorian women who never slouched in their lives probably…straight-backed!

  4. She looks lovely…such a flawless face!

But i have a genuine doubt…is it a neck peice or some lace intricate work attached to blouse?

Waist up & neck below is not my like..too busy for me

  5. i liked nothing except the saree..
she isnt carrying tht saree well.. the entire styling is bad..
Hideous blouse.. n way too small.. the fabric used in the sleeves sud rather b used to add few inches to the blouse..
cos of tht blouse her figure is looking so awkward..

she wud have looked so much better with a different blouse and may b a properly styled hair.. she herself is so gorgeous otherwise..

  6. Gosh! She looks stunning!! But I really wish she would wear longer blouses, and the only reason I say this because such short blouses look odd. They make her body look disproportionate. I know this coz I’m 5ft. 9 inches tall!!

  7. She looks STUNNING! I couldnt breathe for 5 sec looking at her. So tall and statesque. I actually LOVE the fact that she didnt try the pulled back hair because high neck blouse+full sleeves+ puled back hair, everyone would be singing the ‘deepika looks like a grandma’ tune
Regarding the makeup- how unfair.. these might just be a set of bad pictures. I wish you post proper pictures of her before commenting on her make-up

  8. I have no idea why the blouse is the way it is.. the bandgala style just does not work me..and i believe its not working for Deepika either..

  9. I’m not able to think of anyone else who could have worked this saree (which is bordering on tv-soap blingy) so well.
    She looks BEEEAAUUTIFUL!! As always!

  10. GORGEOUS. This girl is killing it every single time. She looks absolutely beautiful here. The make – up should have been lighter, but cannot deny how good she looks.

  11. The saree itself is lovely but the make-up is making her look a bit old in my opinion. Her face looks drawn. Otherwise I like the look – the blouse is gorgeous.

  13. Very nice. I don’t mind the short length of the blouse because she makes up for it with the high neck and long sleeves. And this works well with girls who don’t have a bust but do have a nice flat stomach.
I am wondering what she could have done with her hair because it looks too busy this way and would have been very granny in a knot. any ideas, P&P?
