Sari Style

It made for a refreshing change to see both Deepika and Kareena do saris at the recent Awards. Between the two, we’ll have to hand this one to Deepika who looked lovely channeling a bit of an old world charm. As for Kareena, as gorgeous as she looks neck-up, the sari didn’t quite cut it. Perhaps it’s the wide expanse of her skin under the sheer sari that took away from the look?

P.S: Kareena is in Manish Malhotra.

  1. Both of them are showing off way more midriff than what is elegant. I dare even say that Kareena’s look has to be WTHeyy !
The lady with the lesser exposed belly wins.

  2. Its funny how even the Filmfare statue has more curves than Deepika..LOL! But to be fair she does look good! As for Kareena, I guess she’s channeling Silk Smitha perhaps? ;)
    Big let down from Bebo…~

  3. Usually Kareena looks nice in her MM saris but wtheyyy! It’s awful! Deepika looks beautiful! Love it! She’s in Anamika Khanna! Dia, Deepika, Asin, and Priyanka are my favorites on this red carpet!

  4. Gosh..Kareena looks ahem…Cough cough…simply Vulgar. With that pretty face, she could do so much better in sari’s. if only she could ditch MM and rachet up the elegance instead, that would do her a world of good..

    • I support you here bongbabe… a woman has to have curves in saree not just a srt line…while deepika does looks good but for normal women like us …we have curves not srt lines..

  5. Wow @ Deepika…she looks lovely and elegant…The saree is draped so well (inspite of the half boob show) . kareena looks good in the second picture :P

  6. Personally, I quite like Kareena’s sari (and the blouse) – it’s just unfortunate that its intricate beauty is lost in the tackishly low tie and subpar drape. As it stands, Deepika wins by a country mile (albeit I’m not a fan of the flowery blouse).

  7. Deepika looks like she is still on the set of om shanti om. I don’t like at all. Love Bebo’s hair, makeup and the sari would have looked stunning except the midriff area isn’t flattering

  8. Apart from the skin show, the sari being practically the same colour as Kareena herself is did NOT help with the illusion of…I dunno, not covering up enough. And there’s no colour anywhere to take away attention from that flesh tone.
Deepika wins this one for me.

  9. HHC, totally disagree with you here. Bebo looks stunning.. the saree is ethereal and I love how the color of the saree blends with her skin. Agree it is a tad low on the waist but that is not new in bollywood. Deepika’s saree on the other hand is tackastic, the blouse/saree combo does not gel, her hair is too severe… love the MM saree here… very elegant esp when compared to other tacky net sarees… I rest my case :)

  10. I hate such sheer sarees. Infact Kareena’s sari had some potential if worn properly.. But Deepika’s sari is way too transparent…

  11. I am sure the camera flash has exposed more than Kareena anticipated. Anyway, with the exception of the dangerously low saree on Kareena, both women look fab. On that note it was great to so many indian actresses adorn sarees for the award show.

  12. love deepika’s saree but simply hate the blouse. The contrasting color simply doesn’t work and the appliqued flowers look very cheap.
    Bebo looks trashy period

  13. Nope. i don’t like either sari. After a point they all look the same.At least Vidya’s traditional saris stand out from the blingy sheery stuff everyone else is wearing

  14. I thought Deepika looked especially wierd with the hair and that blouse. The saree doesnt do her much justice. Kareena looks simple and sexy. I agree about the too much midriff though.
