Fab Or Drab?

We love the gorgeous, gorgeous Chitrangda Singh but this appearance of hers was a let-down.

As lovely as the color is against her skin-tone and as interesting as the sleeve detail on her dress is, between the shoes, nails and seemingly over-processed hair, this one was a ‘Drab’ for the almost always ‘Fab’ Ms. Singh.

  1. Really? Really? Are you sure?

These days, I often wonder whatever happened to the Payal and Priyanka from two years ago when I first stumbled upon this blog and became oh-so-addicted. You guys seem to have become so very harsh/critical about certain people, and yet let specific others get away with fashion murder. I want the old, more reality-checked, less biased P&P back!

Re: this outfit. In case my opinion wasn’t clear already, I do like her ensemble, everything about it. The location (cluttery background) of the photograph takes away from her look. That’s the only fault I can find.

    • My thoughts exactly. I mean guys its just fashion dont be so serious that u come across as arogant and biased. I want the old P&P back too! 🙁

I love her outfit its fun, different and she has the attitude to carry it off well!

    • They are entitled to their opinions- and over the years, people change, styles and tastes change. You cannot expect them to be static.
As for the image, I agree with them about the shoes- they’re way too chunky. And the nails a bit too bubblegummy for the sexy outfit.

  3. same old rut of short, tight, satiny, dresses… i’m just tired of seeing this.
these women have no sense of their own style. they just wear and do what everyone else is wearing….herd mentality.

  4. Everyone knows tht she is Gorgeous!!
but..but..for me here she looks ‘One of Many’, if you know what i mean!
something about the look is “too loud'” and honestly she does not need to try soo hard, she’s gorgeous anyways..

  5. I would not wear it bit I think she works the dress and think it’s quirky that she’s highlighted the sleeve detail with matching nail polish. The shoes are OK too, not great but not awful. The appearance may not be outstanding but it’s certainly not drab. Too critical methinks…

    • shruti wore two dresses at the FF awards, one is a beige/black dior which looks terrible and the other a black one which looked nice. You can find her photos on the filmfare web site.

  8. A generation ago Chitrangandha would have been all over the place for her namkeen and very desi beauty…think Rekha in the 80s. These days we all seem to have pandered to a more westernized definition of beauty (white skin, caucasian features) which in another age would have been dismissed as pheeka.Don’t know if anyone else is bothered by the fact.

    • I don’t really agree with that…bipasha basu, vidya balan, even lara dutta – all have very desi features and are considered by many beautiful
as is chitrangada – who was touted every where as one of the most stunning faces when hazaron khwaishein aisi came out. i think she isn’t everywhere because she chooses not to be. like gayatri joshi she chose to stay away from the camera (unfortunately for the rest of us, cause both ladies were so fabulous in their respective movies)

  9. Priyanka,
I thought gold shoes look good for this outfit, especially with that shade of pink and blue. Just that her shoes are a little too chunky, should have been more strappy

Or did you mean you would have preferred her shoes to be another color? Any muted shade would take the elegance from this outfit down several notches. Please elaborate

  10. This is the first time I see the dress wearing her rather than the other way around.. Usually whatever she wears takes a back seat to her radiant face but she’s so overdone over here (makeup wise) that it’s totally taken away her natural self.

If they had styled her hair and face better we wouldn’t even notice the dress.
