Janmashtami (the birth of Lord Krishna) celebrations were full-on today in Mumbai with several ladies making appearances in their traditional garb.

It was Karishma’s first appearance since giving birth to her son Kiaan and shelooked radiant in a blue and white outfit paired with kolhapuri wedges.

On the same day, animated movie Ramayana was launched to which Juhi Chawla lends her voice as Sita. She looked cheery in a yellow kurta-churidaar. Considering we see her so much in odd printed concoctions, this was such a welcome change.

Also, wearing yellow was Prachi and while her shade of yellow wasn’t that cheery, she made up for it with her pose. :)

Ending this roundup was Mughda in all-white who fared much better here than her past appearances in color.

Who was your best dressed?

These two sisters wore all-white outfits to two different events complete with gold footwear. While Raima went uber-casual in white patialas to a film screening, Riya went a more formal in a churidaar outfit to a movie launch.

Considering both events were totally different, we think each did quite well but I have to admit, I am gravitating a tad bit more towards Riya’s fitted look. What about you?

At a recent promotional event for a denim company that Kangna endorses, she made an appearance in a jersey top and denims paired with sky high pumps. At another sighting, she arrived for her upcoming movie’s launch again in a pair of denims and flats before changing into a military inspired look (very Burberry Prorsum Fall 2010) for the actual launch itself.

It was secretary chic for Ms. Rao at the launch of an upcoming movie. I love this look on her. However, I do wish she had chosen a different statement necklace over this more traditional one (or skipped it altogether)!

On an aside, I so want to see the vintage inspired Prada glasses on her. Can’t think of anyone better to pull ‘em off! :)

On the same night, both Anita and Kalki went the high-waisted route for an evening look complete with clutches.

Between the two, Anita was a clear winner for wearing her look with ease. Kalki was also doing good until our eyes reached the footwear. Don’t get us wrong, we love oxfords with pants but hers were too a lil’ too square-toed to work with the look. And, how can we forget the red socks! Egad!

As much as I want to like this look, something definitely is amiss… Perhaps it’s the hair and make-up? Also, am beginning to think this shade of green just isn’t for Kangna.

Nothing WTHey about the dress itself, heck, barring the off-centre belt it’s even cute… But, it’s certainly way too blah for an A-lister’s photo-op, especially at a promotional event for a brand that she endorses. We’d have much rather she saved this one for a more low-key screening than for an appearance like this one.

We all know black has a slimming effect but even the color can’t help when the outfit itself is ghastly. Don’t know what we hate more, the dated hair or the top. Such a shame, because Ms. Tandon could do so much better!

Kiran Bawa (co-owner of Shilpa Shetty’s MediSpa) was spotted in a jewelled kaftan from Pria Kataria Puri‘s recent Resort collection. On the model, we quite liked the kaftan but on Kiran, the extra inches on the end make Kiran look so sloppy.

The usually fab Sri was looking anything but at the mahurat of Telugu movie Appalraju. The monochromatic look was bad enough already and it didn’t help that the top was much too snug and the slip-on sandals a total mismatch for the look.

Let”s hope she doesn’t get in another Match-Much phase.
