In Sabyasachi Couture

Wearing a Sabyasachi sari from his couture collection, Bipasha helped unveil a wedding related book in Mumbai on Wednesday evening. And while she didn’t quite dress up as a bride for the event, her look was still pretty glamorous.

Even though the sari wasn’t devoid of ornate embroidery, more visual interest was added to the look by pairing it with a green velvet underskirt. Because Ms. Basu looked so good waist up, I wasn’t quite distracted by the contrasting color and it wasn’t a deal breaker. Was it for you?

  1. Would have loved to see her wear a matching green blouse with a little more fabric 😉 Less severe hair works well with these kind of earrings. I would like this severe hair trend to go away right now.

  2. I wish from the bottom of my heart that this beautiful woman would wear less make-up, maybe opt for a nude lip now and then. It’s just the icing on the cake when it comes to Bipasha’s lush features, and it detracts from her style. The sari is nice.

  3. Dislike 🙁 the sari is nothing to write home about (anothet r blingy mess) with a shiny petticoat and shinier blouse.. the styling ages the gorgeous Bipasha Basu by almost a decade, with the dark lipstick, heavy earrings and severe blouse

Bips looks so much younger in the blue jumpsuit she was seen in a day / so ago.

  4. The purple velvet blouse looks odd because of its silver tinge while the sari is gold. Bipasha looks really statuesque on her part tho

  5. A subtle blouse as opposed to this velvet(?) one would have toned it down a bit. Now, everything is fighting for attention. The earrings, the lipstick colour, the blouse, the shimmery embroidery. Too much glitter and shine.

  6. Its a basic rule – just let one element stand out/ make a statement. Since this kind of sari practically screams for attention it would have been better to tone down everything else – make up, blouse, underskirt etc etc

  7. An unexplainable fondness for this woman makes it difficult for me to criticize even her sartorial worst; and when she turns up like this, I’m nothing short of amazed !

  8. saree is good, even though entirely the look is too heavy… maybe soft make up n non velvety blouse would lighten this n let the saree n the woman come by
