  1. Fab. I miss seeing Rani these days. Actually I miss seeing all the early-mid-2000’s top actresses trio (Ash/Rani/Preity) nowadays. Even if they look average, I like it. Kind of tired of seeing Kareena, Katrina, and Deepika everywhere now.

  3. more fadrab I would say…it reminds me of Vidya balan’s blue anarkali (which, I have to say, looked better than this)
although it is appropritae for the event
I am a bit bias though, no matter what Rani does, my gut doesn’t let me like her :/

  6. she looks bland and ammafied as always..no matter what she wears she ends up looking like people around would bend over and touch her feet for being so matronly..

and can she put any more white foundation thing on and around her face?

  7. Drab. The woman in the yellow sari right behind her seems to be glowing so much more. Imagine if Rani’d worn that color instead of this Karol-Bagh-ish suit.

  8. She looks nice, safe and boring. She is such a fine actress, I wish she would step out of the Yash Chopra camp and DO something with her talent.

  9. The woman behind her is the author of the book. Rani’s make-up was very nice on video, and she looked quite nice. Very appropriate for the occasion.

  10. Why is a decent, ethnic outfit always seen as matronly? Shes not a teenager and thankfully, is dressed appropriately, unlike other women who insist on staying dressed as if they were teenagers (Queenie Dhody, Parmeshwar Godrej and their ilk). And I like how subtle the outfit and her entire get up is. I don’t get the obsession with any Western outfit (be it targetted at teenagers) that seems rife in India/ or at least the Indian media. Since when did a presentable slawar kameez or a saree that’s NOT slinky and see-through and NOT worn with blouses that screem “tart” get out of style?

  11. I totallyyyyy agree with K, Sia and Anastasia. I really miss seeing all the good ACTRESSES (actresses in caps because the other girls are more “personalities/glamour queens”). I’m so sick of Katrina, Kareena, Deepika etc. N I’m sick of all the good actresses (ie. Vidya and Rani) being called matronly just because they dress simply and don’t dress like “tarts”.

  12. yeah i miss Ash, Rani, preity, Madhuri etc and i don’t know why people like kareena so much, katrina is beautiful but is she a good actress as well and deepika is kool whatever, really the only reason why i like deepika is that she comes from the same place as Aishwarya does a few of the newcomers are okay too
