In Paule Ka

With the hair up and the hand at the hips, we wouldn’t blame you for having mistaken Asin for Sonam in the middle pic. We almost made the same mistake too until we saw the clearer first pic.

Having said that, she does look rather fierce in the Paule Ka gown. Just wish we had clearer pics!

  1. She looks amazing! No doubt. She has done a brilliant job at pulling the look off. She’s been doing so well with her appearances in the recent past but somehow it all feels too concocted…it would be nice if she didn’t try so hard n let her personal style shine through.

  2. She looks gorgeous but these stylists need to shape up and stop dressing all their clients in the same style! You can see no difference between any of them and that’s the stylist’s fault for not creating different, individual looks for each actress.

This is what they’re getting paid for but they’re doing a poor job in it.

  3. what you see sonam wearing is picked by the same stylist who styled Asin. If Sonam had much of her own input, her own sense of style would come through no matter who the stylist is, but clearly sonam’s looks do not showcase much of that.

    • Tanya has actually spoken about how Sonam has a lot of input on her own looks, and how her style is “her own thing.” Stylists have relationships with certain designers, and hence many of their clients may end up in outfits by those designers. I’d imagine the stars have a say in what they end up wearing and how they are presented. Sonam obviously does not have a fixed look, and her style was being lauded much before Tanya entered the picture.

    • If having style was about picking the same stylist as Sonam then everyone in bollywood would look as fabulous as her. But nobody in bollywood looks as wonderful as Sonam. People need to stop hating on her.

  4. While the general rule of fashion is that attention gets drawn to the lighter colors in the apparel, here , interestingly it is the black bit that is drawing all the attention and creating an illusion of the perfect hourglass figure. Well crafted.

    • Yes, it is a very flattering gown. I hope there are less dramatic (and much cheaper) versions somewhere! I have rarely seen such an intelligently designed gown!

  5. You guys, just because someone wears their hair a certain way/ wears the same designer doesn’t make them similar. I mean crap, she looks amazing, cut her some slack! “Blatant plagarism” this is not..

  6. I love the look, but yeah, all these people are beginning to look alike to me. In a way, it makes me focus on the clothes, and nothing else 😛

  7. She looks hot and fierce. But the stylists are making every actress a clone of each other. There is no sense of personal style. I wish the actresses worked with the stylist and come up with an individualistic style. Don’t get me wrong – some of them do.
She looks fantastic – maybe she just needs more time to find her own style.

  8. She looks amazing! What I really like about her appearances is that she clearly works her clothes and doesn’t let them wear her.

  9. Sorry…she looks just run-of-the-mill, nothing different, personal, spunky…nothing. It’s like the stylists are pushing out caricatures from an assembly line! Only someone with a strong/distinct personality can overcome this and Asin, IMO, does not have that personality. Can think of only a handful of celebs whose personal style q shines through ‘despite’ what they wear sometimes – Sabina Chopra, Soniya Mehra, Kangna Ranaut, Natasha Poonawala, Sona Mohapatra come immediately to mind…

  10. Tanya Ghavri knows no better than put a Paule Ka dress on whoever pays her. LOL! I want to be a stylist too. Didn’t know it was that easy.

  11. Finally! I thought it was only me who thought so.
Agreed, Asin looks absolutely fabulous, but also a little like Sonam 2.0! The pose, Paule Ka, the hair… it’s all one too much! I get that it’s the same stylists, hence the same-ness, but Sonam claimed this look first!
Tanya Ghavri, do something!! You’re turning Bollywood into one big clone factory!

  12. While she looks amazing ….I don’t like the cape aspect of the gown. Her body type is similar to Sonams also, so they both look good in almost anything!

  13. Its so mean to call her copycat of sonam just because she gave flawless look…… Her style has improvised a lot n she is here looking out of the world!!!

  14. even if the look resembles SOnam…its 100 times better than being those loose hair-sequin sari/loud anarkalis sporting looks!
if this is the new ‘it’ look for the actresses, then bring it on!!
