At the trailer launch of Nil Battey Sannata, which happened a while ago, director Ashwiny instantly caught my attention in her navy blue sari and black tie-dye blouse. I know she also caught the attention of one reader, who did write in requesting for us to feature Ms. Tiwari and for good reason. As you can see, Ashwiny does have a very individualistic style and here at HHC, we love them because they just feel so earthy.
You have a favorite look?
P.S. And now am off to hunt for some printed blouse to go with my saris. 😛

Don’t like the indiscriminate use of the bindi with every attire, but yes, she has a refreshingly un-Bollywoody style sense. love the sass.
It could be that for some ladies it is not just a accessory?
That aside love her style. Liking all looks except for the shoes in the black dress.
Also, i think she goes by the name Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari.
Hola Señorita! in Tamil Nadu (may be other southern states) bindi is not really an accessory. Traditionally a bindi was worn until the death of the husband. Yes, many women today don’t wear one unless they wear traditional clothes. But also, many women wear bindi all the time, irrespective of what they wear.
indiscriminate use of the bindi ?? Eh ??
That’s a new one..
She does have a sense of style all her own. She looks great in looks 2, 3 and 4. The vermilion dress and the size of bindi doesn’t do her justice. But she seems super confident and comfortable in her body and thats such a welcome sight.
she is rocking the second look. and love the sari in third. a very refreshing sight on these pages.
+100.
Real women in real clothes. Such a refreshing change. Always interesting to see people’s personal style – tells so much about them.
Perfectly said.

You said it. And an individual sense of style, with no pressures of showbiz.
Love her taste in clothing, and she works all of them.
what style this lady has! Love her outfits 🙂 She is from my school.A big shout out to #StMarysMulund!
When I grow up I wanna dress up just just like this! Except the gold loafers in pic #2.
Really love her style. Spec the 3rd pic. .love dat sari! !
She looks good in all save those shoes in the second.. This is how I have seen lot of classy Maamis wear any of their outfit (be it saree, kurti or any other outfit) with so much sass & style with bindi inclusive. The other ladies who proclaim that they were born to wear saree but will always show up shabby-unkempt should take complete notes. LOL.
She works all these looks! Looks extra beautiful with her hair down. Esp like no 3.
