Now that we’ve seen the Gauri-Nainika Spring 2008 gown in two different versions, got a preference?

  1. um…I think she needs makeup though
when I look at her all I can think of is this girl that was in one of my highschool classes…
this is sort of no contest (literally)

  2. I think if Arpita just relaxed her shoulders back a little more, she would give Pri some more run for her money here. The way you carry yourself in a dress will really do wonders…

and yes i use the word narrower soch samajh ke
cuz it doesnt feel like just becoming thinner

  4. she was born this colour, adopted by Salman’s Dad and Helen, and brought up by them, is a kinda brat…but sweet. But unfair comparison really, becos one was a beauty queen..

  5. The ideal look for me would be somewhere between Arpita and Priyanka. A bit more make-up, hair do than Arpita’s, a little less than Priyanka’s. Ditto with the figure.

I do admire anyone who goes without makeup though!

  6. see I really don’t want to appear mean but it is going to sound mean – Arpita looks beyond ordinary in every designer dress/ensemble she wears and if I am honest like brutally honest she looks like a man in drag in the dress above…

  7. what i don’t get is if arpita didn’t care so much about her appearance, why would she wear designer clothes? and if she is wearing designer clothes, why can’t she put on a dab of eyeliner and lipgloss? i think that is appropriate even as a teenager..i am a bit confused about how old she is because she looks about 18 in her pix, but someone needs to give the poor girl a lesson in make up..and i don’t mean slathering on loads and loads..just stuff to make her features pop and i think she’ll go from plain jane to looking really pretty then..and no, i don’t think she needs to do anything about her complexion..reading some of the comments above made me realize why ‘fair and lovely’ does such booming business in india, preying on women’s insecurities…

  8. you know while I understand everyone’s sentiments about why should she remove a tan? it makes me laugh that commenting on people being “fat” is okay but we can’t comment on complexion? A tad bit hypocritical no?

  10. I think it’s a tan, because I have the same problem, in that MY dark skin becomes patchy with even a little sun exposure… So it isn’t like I’m telling her to get fairer or anything, just to even out her tone to give it a nice dusky glow.
