Anushka visited the sets of Udaan to tape an episode promoting Sultan where she was seen in a floor-length Sabyasachi anarkali. Hair in a sleek middle-parted bun, her look was finished out with ruby Curio Cottage earrings that picked up on the red floral embroidery.

She switched into another floor-length anarkali for another event, wearing a grey Rimple and Harpreet Narula with jewellery from Isharya.

While I love both anarkalis, prefer the finishing touches of the grey look. It felt more feminine and softer.

  1. Have any of you seen the photos of her on Sabyasachi’s official instagram? In two she looks hunched over and even in the photo above wheres she posing next to someone her neck is arching forward. Like somebody help her with posture please? it’s ruining such a lovely look.

Yes i agree the grey is very pretty.

  2. Completely agree with u the finishing touches on the grey one have taken it up several notches… on the other hand i think the problem with red one is hairdo…i think these severe middle parted hairstyles dont work with her face cut and especially combined with that neckline.

  3. She looks much better in the Rimple and Harpreet Narula anarkali. It’s cool, clutter free and elegant. The Sabyasachi look got too busy and messy. The dupatta looks like the tassels on a curtain tieback. I don’t understand the fuss around Sabyasachi. His garments always look like Victorian upholstery.

    • I agree on the fuss around Sabya. Some designs are really good. But lots of it are too busy(yes intricate work and so on but still)and many look like glorified upholstery. Also, not everyone can pull of such outfits with ease.

    • Totally agree. MM, Sabya, Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla are like the “spent force” of Bollywood designers’ fraternity. It’s like their designs and ideas have totally dried up and they only end up busying up their previous designs in the name of new collection.

  4. To be honest don’t like either of them. The first one just feels claustrophobic and teh second one is better – but that color is just so drab!

  5. She looks so elegant & charming in the gray one. Looking good in the sabya too, but not a fan of that tight middle parted hair do. What a smile!

  6. Like that the stylng in both are different. Being a big Sabya fan, I love the first one but I have seen that the severe middle parting with the bn looks better on his models, always but not so in the celebrities. The very color-popping background is taking down the beauty of the suit a few notches doen, maybe. The second one looks good too, understated and elegant.. Love the jhootis and the earrings. I like Anushka’s personal taste in the styling department. Very normal, relateable and chic.

    • I totally agree. Now that I looked back at the pic, bindi surely seems missing. And maybe its just me, but in the grey look, her eye area looks extremely tired. Also, she could have given those pair of earrings on look 1 a miss since the anarkali is already so busy.

  7. Not feeling either look.
In theory, both should work. Both outfits are not bad but somehow it’s just a little underwhelming.
I don’t know why, but both looks seem to giving off a dated style vibe, to me.

  8. Gosh..Anushka is such a stunning lady..I would prefer seeing a more fitted look on her…I think these Anarkalis should now go out out of fashion…Boring!! Having said that the grey looks better on her…and the hairstyle too…Guess there should be a ban on the oily buns!

  9. She looks damn gorgeous in the grey anarkali! <3<3 Very pretty! The other, Sabyasachi anarkali is way too busy and the hair is also playing a spoilsport. Like someone else noticed above, tight buns don't suit her. But kudos to her, she always manages to work most of the outfits thanks to her innate charm, unpretentious and easy-going style.
