In Sabyasachi

Wearing a mint-colored Sabyasachi anarkali, Anushka attended the Shirin Morani-Uday Singh wedding reception that took place in Mumbai on Sunday evening. Am really curious to know how you feel about the contrasting red velvet dupatta.

At first glance, it felt really out of place but the more I look, the less I mind it. Although, I definitely would’ve preferred a matching mint dupatta.

  1. The colours work for me..they complement each other well and create a beautiful palette. She probably wanted to go with the Christmas colours 😉

  2. She looks good but the dupatta takes away from the look. Contrast colors should complement each other and not try to take over each other. This is def not a contrast color combi. It’s like she ran out of the store picking the dupatta she could lay her hand on.

  3. Yes it’s subjective . Mint green all over would be monotonous to me tht I will end up pairing some colorful earrings to break tht . But the beautiful reddish pink is such a smart contrast . Love love

  4. She is already very fair complexioned. A Matching Dupattha would have aged this look for
Soft colour + Fair complexioned = An Aged look overall ! (At least here it applies). Plus her lips are red but not siren red so she did the right thing by having a balanced mixture of colours!

I’m glad she went for the contrast. A nice punch to the already soft coloured beautiful attire. Although my only pet peeve is that velvet is looking way too heavy on the ornate piece. Should have gone for a lighter version.

  5. So gorgeous she is. Such a delicate beauty like Dia. I love the contrast. It packs quite the right punch for a wedding reception without making it OTT.

  6. I like the punch of colour. A mint green dupatta would have paled both the look and her skin too much.. The contrast seems to have paid off!

  7. It’s not the usual run-of-the -mill contrast… It’s a bold contrast and anushka carries it extremely well….
The mint dress and dupatta individually are striking pieces … Putting it together…. Dont know whose brain wave it was…. Sabyas or hers… It’s fantastic ! It’s different !

  8. I understand that Sabya has chosen a complementary color scheme with red being the opp of green but if I was given a choice I would pick antique gold, sapphire blue, bottle green or even bark brown colour as the shawl just to make it regal. The red is too loud for me but she looks gorgeous

  9. Umm Pyar Kiya Toh Darna Kya from Mughal-E-Azam anyone? Classic combination in my opinion, although maybe if it was georgette instead of velvet, you might have appreciated it more.

  10. I love this look & i absolutely love what anushka brings to it..

If you see carefully there is a lota work on the kurta itself… and so is the border of the dupatta and n kurta heavily embroidered…. .. The pastel takes away the “toomuch” from the work while “the red color” of the dupatta adds the celebration feel to the otherwise pastel suit. & Those mojri’s … I totally dig them… a churidaar with a mojri can never make you go wrong with your footwear choice. I loved the outfit & ANushka ofcourse… she carries her clothes really well <3

    & now…
