In Alpana & Neeraj

Ms. Manchanda is one of the few who we love for constantly wearing edgy offerings by Indian designers. In a sea of same ole same ole, the rocker stands out for her appearances and looks fab in almost all of ’em. Safe is definitely not her mantra.

The launch event of a magazine saw her pushing the boundary again in a pink Alpana and Neeraj creation paired with light blue sandals and a side braid. Am on the fence about those sandals with this dress as the felt a tad bit meh. Ankle up, though, love!

P.S. She was styled by Simran Arya.

  1. Hate it. Looks like a bunch of electrical wires holding a up a tube top and a mini skirt…..and actually the shoes are the best part of this attire.

  2. I’m sorry but this borders on a what the hey for me! It makes her look skinnier than ever, flat, and like she’s covered in tape. Not happening

  3. That’s a killer dress; definitely not for the conservative or the faint-hearted. She’s definitely working it like nobody’s business.

  4. Im shocked you LOVE the dress. it simply confirms that what your opinions and comments to the stars (about their clothes, shoes, style ) can not always be corect.
its trashy and seems like toilet paper rolled by a child for his art class.

    • There is no “correct” when it comes to something as subjective as style. There are no precise equations involved. P&P are giving us *their* take on these looks, and we are free to have our own. :)

    • You nailed it with the comment : the toilet paper look :) That should have been the title of this post! Personally, I found it too tacky, atleast she has the body to pull this off..

  5. Reminds me of the 80s movies where heroine is running away from the bad guy (think Ranjith/Gulshan Grover/Prem Chopra) wearing torn clothes. Only difference 20 years have made is now girls chose to wear this kind of thing themselves. No bad guy needed. What a shame!

  6. What you consider to be edgy, I consider to be ugly, trashy, and tasteless.

It looks like she is wearing toilet paper. Actually, those toilet paper dresses from those ‘nothing feels like cashmere’ commercials fare better.

  7. wow some seriously harsh critisism here

I definitely am a bit of a prude most of the time but can’t deny it when someone works a dress the way anushka is!

a dress that could look cheap on most looks fun and fierce (tough combo!) on her

    kudos!

  8. Differing from the comments here I agree with PnP and props to her for carrying it off. Its no different from a Lady Gaga, Nicky Minaj et al – singers who don’t do cute and pop will always wear stuff which will make people go this is not fashion :-)

Separately wasn’t Shruti Hasan edgy in her music phase and now seems to have slipped into bland, cookie cutter, starlet fashion?

    • Agreed Shruti started off pretty edgy. I think this is a perfect dress for a rocker and wow I’m jealous of that bod. To be able to carry off this dress one day.. I can only dream lol

  12. dress looks downright uncomfortable and shoes like ‘oh, i forgot to buy matching shoes. I’ll just slip *these* on’. I was expecting to see ultra techno shoes. And hair. Still it would have looked weird. Props for looking confident, though.
