A Hit, A Miss
September 9th, 2010 at 11:21 am . by PayalMs. Rai attended Longines gala dinner last night in Rome where her new ad featuring her alongwith Kate Winslet and Chi Ling Lin was shown for the first time. Ash was quite a HIT looking beautiful in a one shouldered cream gown.
She also made an appearance earlier that was quite a MISS. The fitted bodice and the crisp drape in the skirt didn’t quite work together and the platform pumps felt much too heavy for the whole look. Also, is it me or is the top falling two inches higher than her shoulder? ( Just like how life-jackets bob up when you’re in the water…)

I don’t hate the next look – hair is horrible and fit could have been better. But she is on the right track dressing for her shape. The colour looks good.
How do you even stand in those heels? They look like stilts.

Dislike the first appearance.. the colour of the outfit is too bland and washes her out (had it been a deep pink or emerald green i would have loved it).. hair & makeup are uninspiring

Is it just me or does she look dramatically different, and not in a good way??? I heard she was unwell, may be coz of that! Nevertheless, good gown!! Love the whole nude, cream, pale pink trend these days

Have to disagree about the MISS. I quite like the contrasts in the fit, it’s given an edgy vibe to what wouldve otherwise been a classic dress.
And I think the shoulders are rising because they might’ve had to take in the dress at the back? Maybe near the shoulderbone/waist? Hmm, has Ms. Rai lost weight? :-)
I had that lifejacket thing happen to me with one of my dresses… why does that happen exactly? Is it because I wore a dress one size to big?
no it happens if u wear a smaller size for corset style here, it happened cos the bottom of the corset rides up from her lower waist as opposed to staying on the lower waist..
the corset should have been looser at the waist ..then it would fall and this wouldn’t happen…

face is gorgeous as usual,loving her eye makeup in that white dress…but dont like both dresses especially on her body type…the black dress is blah blah whats wrong with the shoulders detail!!!

Second well. horrible. probably the first time i’ve seen her face looking not-so-good. very damaged looking hair. the colour of the dress isn’t doing her any favours. :(

I absolutely love the first appearance. Whose creation is she wearing?? The color, the shape, the drape the accessories…perfecto!
I wish the other Blue dress was a little shorter…equally proportioned upper and lower segments are not working for me.

Unfortunately both looks are way off the mark. She’s a diva, no doubt…but that gown is honestly ill-fitted and she comes off looking drab. (Psst: i also checked what Kate and Chi ling were wearing and they both looked fresh and lovely! ). Ash looks tired too. :(
And those heels in the second pic are nothing less than HIDEOUS! That takes away the hall of shame in this whole event, everything else forgiven… :)
she has a beautiful face, but both outfits are not up to mark. The blue outfit is bad and the hair even worse. I do like the clutch bags. I think they are by valentino

Shes lost it ….style wise
we are so used to seeing her photoshopped that real pics don’t look good.The first gown is a beautiful piece, but the skirt and jacket look uniformish.

she looks gorgeous in the first 2 pictures ! And she is doing a good job of showing the watches without it being too on-your-face. See all the diffiernt poses. Well not liking the ugly hair colour on the second pic. And ya, bad fitting too.
She looks pretty in the gown, wish she had gone with more nude and subtle make up with her eyes, seems racconish with the cream gown. the navy blue dress is odd but she looks good overall. i like the change in hairdo and boy those shoes are a killer.
One has to really hate her to say she looks bad in first. This is the best she has looked in sometime..Divine.Hair, makeup and the color of the dress …Thumbs up! She is one of the few women in industry who are so poised.
As for second look, totally agree..it is a miss. Nothing works expect may be the color and yes those shoes..love them.
