Also In Sabyasachi

After a string of appearances in Manish Malhotra, Aishwarya switched back to Sabyasachi and while I loved that she changed things up unlike a certain Ms. Balan, I would have much preferred plain black churidaars with this anarkali, just because it is so busy already.

AB Jr. on the other hand is making my eyes go all weird because of the stripes overdose. He could’ve also used a plain black scarf.

  1. Love the outfit. Just seeing the top part I wasn’t sure if it was Sabya or MM (just because she has worn so many MM churidar sets recently). I do like the churidar as well, where would Sabya style be without that extra print.

Abhi is stripes galore. Didn’t wifey tell him?

  2. she is such a gorgeous woman.
love the anarkali. i think the churidar is fine, it’s the sleeves that are bothering me.
actually after looking at it again…either one- sleeves or churidar should have been plain.
my only problem with her is the hair. it’s the same open hair all the time. wish she would tie/pull them back, like she did for filmfare awards. she looked stunning that night.

    • Agree about the hair. It always looks so flat and limp and even greasy. And that side parting doesn’t do anything for her. I’d love to see her in Twinkle-style Big Hair – she could really take that look to town.

Btw, is Aishwarya beginning to grow back on any of you folks? She was waning on me a bit with the ice princess-ness and the silly changing accents, but I do have to give her credit for seeming way more grounded and balanced than most. Like the old-fashioned Nice Girl, the kind you don’t really find so often anymore. I like that. 🙂

  3. anarkali’s dont really appeal me anymore coz i have seen them on so many people i am kind of fed up of them and ash is a personal favourite of mine anyways!! i think the ladies should ditch the anarkalis now!!

  4. I really love this.. the sleeves totally MAKE the outfit. Wow! Only thing is, she should try an updo or something, I hink paired with the volume of the anarkali, it’d look good.. and some drop earings.

    • Totally agree with you, the first thing I loved about the dress is the sleeves! only thing I would change is the churidaar into plain balck, but still this way doesn’t look bad either.

For me this is the first time in quite a while I’m finding ash is looking very good, recently she had started to look faded.

  5. Love both of them and their look. So stylish and elegant. They are so in love. Look at the body language. Abhi has also given her more confience which shows in her posture. Ash looks sexier than ever before.

  6. The scarf is definitely too much, he should have gone for different one. Ash’s outfit is really nice except it looks little busy. When people like Rakhi or average girl likes me make a mistake I can still understand. But people like Ash, they have no excuse. She has dressed up really bad on lot of occasions.

  7. LOVE it!! The sleeves in print look great and plain churidar would make the outfit so regular. The banarasi is where Sabya upped it to another level. I want !!!

  8. It is interesting how both Aishwarya and Vidya, previously criticized for their poor dress sense have resorted to wearing Sabyasachi often. That ways they can’t do much wrong. I’d say thanks to him for saving us from more potential eyesores of the Neeta Lulla / Manish Mal variety.

  9. I think ASh is looking gorgeous…Printed Churidar is fine with me,infact i loved it.
Abhishek could have skipped pinstripes scarf….I think updo in indian outfits with big jhumkas give auntie look thats why she doesnt prefer.
We ladies always try to look younger …:-)

    • actually she is someone who looked even prettier 10 years ago. Not something you can say for many heroines in Bollywood today. We all know how they manage to get prettier by the day though the details would probably not be approved by P&P 😀

  10. What r u talking abt? This dress is lovely … i wouldnt change a thing abt it…love love love it…dont understand why ppl r so overly critical abt ASH

  11. it’s not the churidar that i am bothered by. it’s the giant paisley pattern on the thigh area that should’ve been done away with. she looks stunning.

    • It’s a scarf. You put the scarf across your neck and keep it like inside your vest, then you wear your coat on top. It’s quite a common thing in Europe to wear when you wear a suit and its cold.

  12. Okay, I absolutely love the sleeves on this. I think if the sleeves were plain black (or otherwise ‘matched’ the rest of the outfit), it might have been a little too… bland. I wouldn’t have minded if the churidar was plain black, but still – love the whole thing. I also really like her hair – I know a lot of people are saying she should try an updo to mix it up, but I think that Indian clothes generally look better with hair left down. I think it adds an extra touch of femininity.

So all in all, I’m loving this look on her. And they look great together. But I do wish Abhi had gone with the plain black scarf. 🙂

  13. Totally agree with ur comment on the mister. Too many stripes running wild all over the place. The mrs looks very pretty n elegant this time. Loving the anarkali. Totally fab!

  14. Don’t really mind the hubby’s overstripiness, but don’t care for the fact that they are colour coordinated. Also, can’t tell if the lighting is off, but not too keen on Aish’s hair colour — I wish it wasn’t so red.

    • The hair looks red from the lighting. I saw other pictures where her hair is much darker.

I love the anarkali even the sleeves. I saw this outfit being modeled on a video of his regional designs and it said this represented Kashmiri weavers. She looks beautiful and elegant.

  15. Disagree. I love the whole look. Compared to Vidya’s look below, my faith in Sabyasachi is restored. Ash is gorgeous.
That’s a lot of stripes on Abhi. He sooort of makes it work… but then again I just have a soft spot for him 🙂

  16. They look soo good together!! Everything is perfect about their outfits mainly cuz they can both pull it off. I like the overdose of stripes on abhi n overdose of designs on ash. I love when couples coordinate. It just shows that extra attention to each other.

  17. Serously….they are so young, and she dresses so mumsy, and he always has this ‘Mamma’s little laddoo’ look about him! i wish they would funk it up a little!

  18. you know what.. It is really busy, and there is a lot going on.. And in theory it probably wouldn’t work.. But looking at it now, it is working – somehow! don’t you love it when that happens? 🙂

  19. Seriously, this outfit is fugly and way too busy. I wonder if sometimes you should post without the designers name..might get an unbiased opinion then!!!

  20. Saw some more pics of this event on other site and the dress looks very “pointy” in a very non-flattering way…other than that…luv the color and work on the dress.

    • only thing i don’t like is her hair colour. it’s much too coppery. i think black or dark brown with caramel highlights would suit her more.

  21. WOW. 🙂 Her beauty is blinding. Gorgeous anarkali. Love the churidar…plain black would have looked bland. Priyanka Chopra said in an interview, “God must have taken a vacation to make Aishwarya.Us lesser mortals were made in minutes” or something along those lines. Couldn’t agree more 🙂

  22. A for Awesome, A for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan!!! She’s the best dressed woman in Bollywood and gives a stiff competetion to her Hollywood counterparts at Cannes and other international events! Way to go, Ash! Can’t wait to see Sabya’s designs in Raavan and Guzaarish! Also want to see what Manish did with you in Robot! hmmm…No clue who’s dressing up Ash for Action Replayy! Anyone?

btw, yes, Abhishek looks yumm! He could’ve done with less stripes but this is far far away from a fashion faux pas! He’s hot!!
