In Armani Privé

Aishwarya took to the red carpet looking fabulous in an Armani Privé strapless dress. The brown is such a change! (By the way… The shimmery gown looked far better on the red carpet than how it translated in the photographs.)

P.S: Will update later with better pictures… Be sure to check back!
Update: Added another pic.

  1. She is so full bodied now. I like.
I can imagine the look appearing a lot better in person than in pictures. In pictures it looks like an okay gown with the usual hair and make up.

  3. girls need to post better pictures because Ash looks so washed out here.
I am loving the hair and the hair color is great too but NOT a big fan of celebrities wearing strapless numbers when their arms are not toned.

    • Not every woman wants Michelle Obama’s or Madonna’s arms 😉 Some women actually like looking soft and womanly. It’s possible that that is how she likes her arms?

I think we need to accept that women come in all shapes and sizes – and it’s alright to wear strapless if you’re not looking as toned as a yoga teacher, no?

      • no !

Tim Gunn says (and it makes sense) that if you are of a certain shape eg pear shaped, you should try to wear clothes that take attention away from your hips. Like empire waist clothes. Same logic here.

But in this case, i think ash’s arms are fine.

even the fourteen year-old Hailee Steinfeld made her fashionable-presence felt

  7. A) I’m not sure what she’s doing there. And,
    B) I’m not entirely a fan of that dress to begin with BUT, in her defence, she does look good. But I’m still not loving the dress.

*Oh how their stylists need to be replaced*

  8. Instead of a gown she shld have gone for a sari at least she would have stood out and would have represented the country..she was lost amongst the HOLLYWOOD STARS so i don’t like it

  9. She looks so plasticy neck up, however we have to say that neck down she did a better job as compared to Mallika Sherawat. Having said that, the colour isn’t doing much for her and she definitely could have gone with something had accentuated her curves a bit more.

  10. she has so much potential ok looking good….but she ended up looking so ordinary!!!im not liking it…if you look at her makeup in closeup her it is not good either and its very heavy!!

  11. This is one of the best looks of hers till date. Classy, underplayed yet glamorous and ethereal. In her closeups you can see her beautifully flawless skin and the wonderfully done make up. Can’t say anything bad about this look. She has nailed it and how! The hubby however, is another story. Not venturing there to waste my energy at all.

  14. I wish there was something that stood out.. maybe a dress or a deep red clutch.. anything to make this look seem less brown..

However no denying that Aish looks lovely

  15. I watched the award show and I was not even aware that she was at the Oscars, LOL.

Guess she didn’t generate much interest. The gown certainly didn’t help.

  16. She is looking good.
but something off about her face..may be the makeup.
she looks like nice with less or natural looking makeup.
also should have accessorized with sparkly accesories – earring & bracelet to contrat with the dark dress.

  17. I happened to revisit the Kiran-Aamir post where she wore the Sabya to the Berlin FF…and now I wish Ash should have donned a Sabya Sari/Anarkali here and Abhi could have rocked a sherwani…If you think about it, this was a perfect opp to represent ( I don’t think she was there as L’oreal’s rep?) and also she would have actually stood out considering how blah the Oscars were fashion-wise anyways…In that vein, kudos to Mrs. Rahman 🙂

  18. She looks beautiful! I think she was one of the most stunning on the red carpet. her bronzed look and beautiful hair complement the dress nicely. there are so many haters on this forum, just get over it. shes beautiful and this dress is lovely

  19. Not many people look good in brown, but she does. It’s the oscars…I wish she had bigger earings or something… the outfit seems to be missing something.

  20. nice dress..but the make-up is too heavy and the hair is ordinary just as usual and that pose mehhhhh I’m so damn tired of seeing her pose like that in each and every where she goes.

  22. I am so CONFLICTED……this is the Oscars!!! She did not dress for it! She looked lovely but not impressive. She did not bring that star quality to the RED CARPET. I love Armani but I dont think her dress was not flattering to her figure! This is not Cannes & Loreal. This is the biggest names in film world. Show me the $$$ business…you have to come to show baby! Sorry I was dissapointed!

  24. She looks good, but not as good as she could have looked. First off, while the colour of the dress is gorgeous, I really think it would be better complemented by darker skin (e.g., bipasha, or ash w/ some bronzer/self-tanner) – there are very few colours that aishwarya is unable to work but surprisingly, this is one of them. Also, i do have a problem with the fit on her – clearly, this dress tends to fall straight at the hips, and it looks like she had to go a size up to accommodate her hips, which left this dress a bit too loose in other places. She has had some hits lately in the gown department, so a bit disappointed on this one. But, I suppose, this could have been so much worse, so at least she ended up looking good and classy, even if she did not take it all the way. Plus, that face – sometimes I actually think if you put a paper bag on her she would look better than she does when she actually tries.

  25. She looks amazing! I bet nobody would’ve carried that color as well as Aishwarya did. Actually, deciding to wear something BRONZE/BROWN for the red carpet is appreciable. Plus she carried it off. 9/10. Wonderful!!

    • Agreed that she carried the color beautifully. However face wise she has looked better.Or maybe it is the photograph that doesn’t do her justice.
      Hair is just ok.

  26. Something is off about this dress…it is not very figure-flattering. Add to that, the make-up is aging her. She could have done better.

And congrats PnP on ur Vogue article 🙂

  27. her hair colour matches perfecly with her gown, great effort unless she was on a l’oreal trip, where they matched the gown to the hair colour. anyways she looks good!

  28. I think she looks very elegant and feminine here. She does justice to the gown than that skinny model on left in first pic. Brown looks different and suits her.

  29. so far all oscar appearances by Indian actresses like Freida Pinto, Lisa Ray and now Ash have been downers. I agree that a traditional look would’ve definitely spelled more spotlight. In that respect Mrs. Rahman’s red carpet appearance was actually the most interesting.

  30. compared to the other red carpet celebs her make up was an eye sore!
the dress looks super sloppy on her. very badly carried off look on the whole!
