    i dun see jaya bachhan

    and i love aishwarya’s suit.

as for her wearing only desi so far, the only events you have photos from are desi events … a puja, hanuman chalisa event etc. desi clothes would be more appropriate at these events, yea?

      Second that.
She made public appearances at religious functions. Of course she would be in flowy maxis and what nots otherwise.

Oh dear… Her bags make it seem like she just needs to relax. I guess like any other professional she’ll work/make appearances but if she can afford it, then she should chill !
Fab suit and loving her kolapuris :-)

Gwjuss. Pls put her other pregnancy looks of pink sari and green churidaars as well

I like the dress very simple yet appealing. The way she is wearing it…. not so much… but can understand her reasons.

She has got a lot of puffiness and needed good make up to cover it and to add some colour to her whitewashed face.

well so far, she has only been going to temples etc so I think it is approprate that she is dressed in salwars, than maxis….

Isnt she too covered… my due date is for first week of Nov 2011 too… but i dont cover up myself so much.. and that too in such heavy clothes!

That’s your preference, and perhaps Aishwarya prefers not to showcase her pregnancy. I’m all for critiquing fashion, but when someone’s carrying a human inside her, Ithink she deserves a bit of leeway. :D

have you considered the fact that she gets photographed way too many times than you :))) and may want to cover her bump which will then be viewed by millions…

    3. auntykitty at | | Reply

your not Madame Rai Honey, shutterbugs are not waiting to capture photos of every tiny bump and bungle.

      1. SMV at | | Reply

I second all the comments above. Common miss Barkha , its upto mamma-to-be to dress as she wants.

Ash looks lovely as always :) covered or not so covered.

she’s glowing and how! am not an ash fan but she looks gorgeous and radiant :)

Wow she looks so graceful and the suit is so deceptively simple. The only thing that’s killing me right now is the make up. I know that by month 7 or so, it’s less of a pregnancy glow and more of a pregnancy exhaustion, but I wish she wasn’t drowning in so much bronzer.

Okay looking suit… but why is she hell bent on hiding her pregnancy??? its no crime to be pregnant the last i knew…

    1. Amber at | | Reply

I don’t think she is hiding it or thinking it’s some sort of crime… I’m all for her covering up because the media will find anything to go crazy about especially when it’s about a Bacchan baby. Before we’ll know it, the baby bump and gender predictions will be all over the place.

  13. arpitha at | | Reply

I dont think she will wear flowy maxis as she is covering herself up even in salwars with her dupatta.

She looks nice in the first pic, but not liking the orange hair color.

It annoys me to no end that she wants to cover up her baby bump with tent like outfits.Being pregnant is a wonderful and natural event and I dont understand the need to coverup as if you are ashamed of it! Otherwise, she looks pretty like always.

    1. kasthuri at | | Reply

I feel so sad that in the last 10-20 years people have moved from hiding the pregnancy bump to almost being obliged to show it.
I think its people’s personal preference and most women in india hide it or atleast try not to showcase it. I think it should be left as a personal preference. U want to show, go ahead but don’t expect other to do the same.

    2. HeadtoHeels at | | Reply

But then again, I have cousins in New Zealand who are appalled by how women there showcase their pregnancy by wearing cropped tops and sport bras while shopping..

I’m sure you would not like to see that!

The only reason she is covering up is cuz she is surrounded by guards and paparazzi, and I also think its more of a protective instinct towards the child, rather than hiding it from the world..
When she is with family and friends she might be a lot bolder and may feel safer..

    3. naiad at | | Reply

Who said covering yourself up is being ashamed of your pregnancy. This is how most of my friends dressed up when pregnant.. Oh wait, guess they were ashamed of it too..

Love her choice of dress but wish she actually showed her shape! and I know that is none of my beeswax! :)

I don’t know why people are surprised that Aishwarya is in mostly desi wear. It’s not like she’s walking Cannes red carpet and she’s always been pretty conservative

  17. fashionfever at | | Reply

I like her dress ..she ofcourse looks dull and without makeup which is okay…..she got my vote.

  18. shruti at | | Reply

Oh please! People need to give her a break! She wears what she feels comfortable in and wears it the way she wants to make public appearances in. If flowy maxis are not her style, then so be it. Just because they make a baby bump look cute doesn’t mean she has to don those too. Plus she is glowing right now. Go Ash!

    1. Tamanna at | | Reply

exactly…just what i thought!….if she is comfortable w this attire then be it!….

I admire her for not flaunting her pregnancy, she’s being conservative!

    1. kasthuri at | | Reply

      Me too !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I admire it !!!!!!

      1. tenvintage at | | Reply

me too, but then again when has ash not been conservative?! I am actually surprised to even see her out n about!

  20. The Mad Momma at | | Reply

Oh God, its amazing how everyone has an opinion on how much of her bump she should show. You need to stop and listen to yourself, folks. As the lady before me said – its none of your beeswax!

  21. tenvintage at | | Reply

uhh Payal keep hoping! Ash has always enjoyed her desk clothes more, other than the occasional gowns here n there . And I think she’s using it well to hide her belly!

  22. Srilalitha at | | Reply

She looks nice and comfy… Not digging her hair, Wish she had pulled it back …

  23. anne at | | Reply

her suit is horrible. she can hide what she wants, but this getup ain’t working sista.

  24. arna at | | Reply

She has surely put on the pounds…I did too when I was preg, and I am only 5.5 in height. For the record I am now 126 pounds and look fabulous :) However, when one gain so much weight it is best to dress appropriately. She seems to have taken quite a fancy to her Indian clothing. Also, at this stage it is not easy to fit into many fancy wear…. I believe she is happily pregnant and leading a calm and quiet life, until her baby arrives. The media has a way of manipulating the story… stick to good critical taste and judgment.

Love the glow she’s sporting! Pregnancy agrees with her!

Love Ash’s outfit. She is oozing radiance. Makes me feel happy! My only grumble…don’t like her make-up. I like without so much make-up.

  27. Jasmine at | | Reply

she’s so beautiful! pregnancy becomes her! i personally am not surprised at ALL thats she’s being conservative about her pregnancy. she’s not exactly a risque-flash everything dresser to begin with. I think it exemplifies her as the lady she truly is :)

  28. eclat at | | Reply

Wow.. amazed at comments equating somebody being covered up, to being a lady, and not leaving it at personal taste or event-appropriateness!
Next, it’ll be: “ooh woman in short dress? She asked for it!”
