In Roberto Cavalli

Aishwarya picked another embellished Cavalli for her turn on the Red Carpet at Cannes today. The gown skimmed her curves perfectly and worked well on her; she looked nice!

Coming on the heels of this appearance however, we couldn’t help but wish she’d gone a different route instead of picking a gown similar to the one worn right before.

  1. I have to say that I love this look a little bit more. I think its just the fact that I found yesterday’s outfit’s fitting a little off. It seemed almost corset like at times and had me wondering how she was breathing in that dress, rather than enjoying its prettiness. I also think that today’s makeup makes her look 10 years younger. She honestly looks like herself from years ago. The lipstick, the hair.. I think THIS is perfection! <3

She is really on a roll this year. Hope she wears something equally phenomenal at tomorrow's Dinner Soiree. That would be the perfect end to a good run. It seems like she will be wearing Cavalli all through this year's events, huh?

    • Agreed – Love this gown a LOT more than the previous one but LOVED her make up in the previous one. But she looks so damn fresh and young – Love…

  2. She looks like Aishwarya of 2004!!

  3. More than the last appearance this gown reminds me of a similar gown she had worn a few years back in Cannes..That said this appearnce feels rather meh coming on the heels of the gold stunner she wore yesterday..

  4. I think she looks amazing! The dress fits her even better than the Gold Cavalli from yesterday. But I’d have preferred stronger makeup, maybe Oxblood lips.

  5. She still looks drop dead gorgeous but I was expecting a lot more after yesterday’s appearance. I wish she wore a brighter colored dress. But I can’t deny how stunning the soft makeup looks on her though. I hope there is one more appearance from her where she blows everyone away again!

  6. I don’t know how it happened but it’s like she aged backwards 10 years in these last 2 days
She looks exactly like the Ash from the early 2000s
And while yesterday was a bombshell look I kinda like this subtle dress a bit more. Her natural beauty and confidence really shines through. And man, does she have poise
Her once-lost supermodel instincts are obviously back!

    • That’s because she took her sweet time in shedding off the pregnancy weight. People who reduce weight drastically end up looking tired and haggard as the skin loses its elasticity and the body is stripped of vital nutrients essential for healthy skin and hair. After all the ridicule and the criticism guess whose having the last laugh?

  7. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t. Guys come on!! She looks AMAZING! Yes its the same designer, yes its the same colour family, yes its more or less the same hair. But she looks amazing.

      • I don’t think this has anything anything to do with overshadowing anyone. I personally happen to find this gown rather boring, even without comparing it to any others. Her hair and makeup do look great though, she’s looking much younger than her age.

    • Yup, nice gown but a little on the bleh side non? Needless to say, the aunties will gobe it up, since it´s more subdued & right up the alley of what they think they might be able to wear themselves. There will be no pearls clutching this time! 😉

      • Ooooh. “Aunty” is such bad word out here and you are talking about “aunties”. Daggers will be launched. Good luck. 😀

      • Hi Ahot,

We meet again after the long long discussion on Sonam’s AK appearance.
I find your comment a bit weird, actually. Why aunties? I could be 50 years old for all you know. Does that make me an ‘aunty’? The stereotypes on this blog are killing me!
Yes, I don’t like the gown and was waiting to be blown away again after her appearance yesterday but that didn’t happen. I’m going to end it at that and steer clear of putting people in boxes of age groups etc.

        • Hi SS! ^.^
Sometimes we women keep the old damaging stereotypes alive without even knowing it, especially with the name calling when someone wears something unusual. With aunties I mean more the regressive mindset, that goes overboard every time a woman is a bit sexier than what some people would feel comfortable with. Of course too much skin show is often very tacky & tasteless & I have no problem with that being called out, but do we need to be vicious about it? (I mean we as in women in general, of course).

I just use the word aunties in a metaphorical way & not to put people in boxes. I don´t particulary think it´s due to a specific age group, it´s more about the mindset for the feminist in me.

Thanks for taking the time to get back @ me, I truly appreciate it. 🙂

  8. Perfect pick to follow up yesterdays look. She looks ethereal and has an air of poised grace about her… what a divine beauty! Truly the most beautiful woman to have walked on the face of this planet!!

  9. Yesterday, she was a super hot Diva with blood red lips, that (slightly ill-fitting?) corset-gown and the pout.!
But today, she is something else.. all woman, elegant and beautiful in the very soft, flattering outfit.

  10. It’s a lovely gown and she looks amazing. But I also feel she should have selected a different gown. As other comments have mentioned Roberto Cavalli designs look really good on her. My gripe…I do like the natural make-up but the lip color should have been bolder. And now that you look at her make-up yesterday…she had a lot on, which she doesn’t need really.

  11. Love this over yesterday’s look. I think the fitting is so much better. She really has un-aged by 10 years! Cannot believe that she’s 39! Plus so glad that she took her own sweet time to get in shape. This is how it should be done! More respect to her!

  12. I saw some pictures of yesterday’s gown on other sites, and it was quite unflattering. Especially her upper back, and the arms akimbo pose.

This gown makes her look, first of all, like the Ash of my childhood and her makeup is not over-whitened! Love it!

  13. I’m relieved she didn’t wear black armani but would have liked to see her wear a different designer- the gown doesn’t wow me but she looks fabulous and the hair makeup like last night are flawless. She really is the queen of the red carpet- why hasn’t she looked like this at all her earlier events this past year?

  14. She looks about 25. I know she’s a superstar and a celebrity and all that but I am still jealous. How does one look that good at 40?

  15. She looks breathtakingly beautiful , and I don’t use that word often, perhaps the best looking Indian ever. It’s not easy to look this good when you’re her age and have had a kid/ kids. The make up is doing her wonders and the dress is equally nice but in some bright color would’ve earned her brownie points.

  16. Goddess! Indians have a tendency to nitpick on every little detail as if they know everything there is to know about fashion, but you don’t. This is why I check American sites like Just Jared over Indian sites.

    • You’re a woman hater. I’m 125 pounds and really thin everywhere but my arms are just way bigger than my waist and probably the size of Aishwarya’s arms. What’s wrong with having a curvier figure? She’s not overweight and she’s not super skinny, I think she looks great!

      • And who pays you to pose for shutterbugs on redcarpet….get out of your self-esteem issue, it is an observation and albeit a correct one!

        • “I will pay the photographer who can get a picture of her…. with her upper arms against her bod ;)”
          – Thats not an observation. Its a proclamation and albeit a snarky one! 😉

  18. Why would one wear a so very similar gown on red carpet consecutively when they have entire world to choose from? With that face she can just go anywhere. Spread your wings ash.we want to see you do things differently. Could have changed up the hair atleast. Disappointed.

    • Yup, that´s the crux of my frustration with her & Angelina Jolie as well! They have such a potential, but are just lazy. *beautiful women´s problems*
But hey, she is still riding high on yesterday´s success, so the fashion judges will probably let it slide 😉

  19. Aishwarya hasn’t look this good in nearly a decade. WOW! Just WOW!

I don’t believe trying to pull off a different look at the risk of looking bad is worth it. If she did that…you’d be the first ones to trash her.

    • Absolutely agree with you. She is self aware of what she can and cant pull off which is the most important if you want to look good!

  20. I the gowns she has been picking are average (or are not cannes worthy). The look yesterday wowed because its been 3-4 years since we saw her arms and saw her weight loss and the hair and make up was spot on. But both gowns were so-so.
So this one didnt wow as much. Wish she picked something from a indian designer for this appearance.

  21. Haila…Juhi Chawla!
Is this the same woman from the other post with the wide face and red lips?
She looks smashing here, but how in the name of hells bells did she slim down her face in a day?

  22. She looks elegant. Day 1’s look was bold and ultra-glamourous. Day 2’s look is elegant and beautiful. Simple yet scintillating. We must remember that she owns both the looks. Both are her.

  24. She looks so young!! If she had worn the gowns in reverse order, we would have been blown away, because if this was the first look she gave us, we would have oooed and aahed, but after giving us that yest, this does feel a little short. But she looks stunning nonetheless.

  25. I think she looks lovely, young and fresh. I am a bit underwhelmed by the simpleness of the whole look though and feel that it needs a little bit lifting up either through the choice of different colour lip stick or a slightly less simple gown. Her hair looks amazing here.

Who is her stylist and make up person? I think they deserve some credit from us via our comments for making her look this amazing . Na?

  26. I will personally put out a supari on anyone who puts her into those ugly ugly fugly tents as soon as she hits Indian soil…
If she can dress so well, and look so good while abroad, whose idea is it that she covers up with those sh*tty Abu-Jani clothes at home? Seriously, here she looks like she’s enjoying herself for the first time in months, she’s obviously revelling in her body, in the knowledge that she’s still a beautiful, sexy woman, compared to those bored, holier-than-thou looks she gives otherwise. We need to kill this gharelu bahurani nonsense we have going on here that doesn’t let a woman be herself.

  27. Aish looked absolutely stunning in her earlier outfit. I couldn’t stop myself from googling her!! totally co-coo… i wish i could say the same for this outfit. She looks pretty and all.. IN SHAPE (most importantly) and would have given her a thumbs up if she had worn this as her first appearance. Its just that she chose the same designer the same style, similar hairstyle. I wanted more after seeing her on her first appearance.
