In Burberry

It was a Burberry dress for Aishwarya while at a recent beauty launch. Fendi cuff, Dior pumps and a striking red lip finished out the actor’s look. Aishwarya looked good and that shade of red (lipstick) is fantastic on her!

    • Just because someone doesn’t agree with you doesn’t mean it’s bias. She’s a beautiful woman, but from my personal perspective, her make-up is far too white (and washes her out), she’s wearing black with over-dyed hair.

      • Agree she looks gorgeous but the make is way too white.. Wish her make up artist would use some summery tones of make up on her and may b introduce her to a lil bronzer

        • From the last several months i have been seeing this pattern …all the aishwarya rai posts with cakey make up , boring hair styles and outdated clothes kept getting mentioned on the blog as ” oh the actor looked so lovely ” ….if it was any other actor …mind you “any other” actor they would be highly critcized for not getting the hair /make up / shoes right …..but when it comes to her all the logic is thrown out of the window? Please seriously someone help me understand how they can call this monstrosity of cakey make up good ? Is this even a fashion blog? Time to put your thinking hats on for the next aishwarya rai post and leave your biases behind Payal & Priyanka!

  1. She is looking gooood!! But something about the haircut is off: especially in the last photo: sleek straight hair might have worked better. That minor gripe aside, welcome back Ms.Rai!!

  2. Fab dress and great lipstick. But she really doesn’t need that much foundation on her face. It has that painted effect and a face like that doesn’t need it…at all.

  3. prettiest on earth.. wow.. I don’t see it.. this is giving a queen elizabeth vibe – not in a good way. She looks okay. that’s it.

  4. Are we looking at the same pictures? make-up is extremely whitewashed. Also she seems to be wearing stockings/pantyhose which just doesn’t seem to have photographed well.

    • I agree. Not sure if all of us are looking at the same pictures. The geisha-esque makeup, stockings, extensions ruin the look for me.

  5. She looks overly made-up, and the dyed hair is contrasting (not in a good way) too much with the white-washed face. She is gorgeous by herself and doesn’t need to slather on the makeup like this.

  6. I have always felt that Aishwarya doesn’t actually have any personal style. She is a reflection of the person who has dressed her up or done her make up for the day…… at-least for the formal occasions that we see her. thats why her Cannes appearances are so out of the box. there is no doubt that with her beauty and the right back-end team to do her up she will shine, but being so long in the showbiz, i would have expected her to develop her own style. She has the world at her feet, she needs to make a effort. In all her private appearances, she is in abu Jani or manish malhotra…..I want to see her, and her personality reflect through what she wears, which leaves a lot to be desired for. ….this look is quite disappointing….bad Stockings/washed out makeup. Yes the Red lipstick is to die for

    • Agree. I remember her from her pre L’oreal days. Everything from her brow shape to the right kind / shade of foundation, hairstyle was tacky, concealing her natural angelic porcelain beauty . That’s why she looked breathtakingly beautiful in Mani’s Iruvar sans makeup as Janaki. L’oreal brought noticeable difference in her appearance. Now even her brow shape is off.

    • Her Cannes appearances are supposed to be out of the box. It’s Cannes. It’s the biggest event at least most years that she attends all year. So that’s not exactly a reason to say she has no personal style. I don’t know I feel as if she does especially if you take notice of her accessories it seems it’s all something personal that means something to her the ring she always wears. I definitely think she puts thought into everything. She also has her own signature straight hair style and also the cat eyeliner she always does. She looks very elegant, polished and importantly age appropriate. Although she has this tendency to go matronly ever since Aaradhya came into the picture.

  7. Is an Aishwarya fan-board leaking here? Her make-up looks horrendous! It’s so caked on and whitewashed. It’s like she’s wearing a white geisha mask.

Why doesn’t her make-up try different styles of make-up on her? Why not some bronzer or a different type of eyeshadow or a more natural look where you can actually see her skin?

She’s always caked up like this with 10 pounds of overly light foundation.

  8. I agree with everyone who is confused by the praise. With that makeup, hair and dress she looks like Morticia Addams from the Addams family. To top it off the hosiery is ghastly.

  9. I am confused with all the love for this look. She looks beautiful – because she is. That doesn’t say anything about her clothes or fashion. Her make up is too white washed and the black dress is quite unimaginative and boring. She seems to be wearing some panty hose which makes her legs look shiny. Nope – not working for me.

  10. I can’t even figure out the outline of her gorgeous features underneath that pile of foundation and concealer. She probably looked much better in person, but the makeup and the stockings are not photographing well at all.
