It’s been a while since we saw Ash in a gown and looks like we’ve got to wait a while longer because we can’t quite count this appearance now, can we?

Why why why wear a non-descript blazer and cover up the gown? Go figure!

  1. The question is- why claim to be comfortable with your weight and then hide your curves? She could have dazzled in a soft-colored saree or a pencil dress. Instead, she chose to wear an ill-fitting boyfriend blazer. Be yourself, Ash.

      • True – she does make all these proclamations about being comfortable with her figure etc. and at one point it was so much that it would lead one to say – the lady doth protest too much!
Either put your money where your mouth is or don’t give all those sound bytes!

Wish she would change her hair color too, imo this shade does not suit her. Such a beautiful face and such uninspired style choices!

    • Was thinking the same thing! she claims to be super comfortable with her body the way it is now but from her dressing it certainly doesn’t seem like it!

  2. Why not just wear a beautiful saree!? its the most ‘curvy’ friendly, but sexy stunning piece of clothing!
She is such a walking disaster! So much for being the most beautiful woman in the world…..meh!…..

  3. Switch off the ac, Ash is cold..Why is she being so conservative??Why that blazer of all?She should take points from Neha Dhupia on how to wear a blazer with a maxi/gown..

  4. I’ve done this before – when I was too ashamed of the weight around my arms, chest, shoulders..or maybe the gown is a bad fit on top and she covered it up. It’s such a looks-driven industry that she figured that it was better to get flak for the blazer (fashion faux pas) than reveal her excess weight (shrug)

      • if she is uncomfortable with the weight then she should do somtething about it or just learn to flaunt her gorgeous self! she’s always covering her arms even in sarees with full sleeve blouses. She managaes to spoil most of the looks that would look gorgeous on her by these stupid cover up ideas! she needs to get confident with herself! she’s still a beautiful woman, so wat if a few pounds here or there?

  5. she should realize that she cannot have it both ways- if she is comfortable with her weight then wear clothes- sarees, suits that flatter her curvier self. Or else lose all that excess weight to fit in such gowns! * sigh *
Also would have loved to see her hair styled differently..

  6. Or she had a fashion attack, it became too late to change, and she flung a jacket over it. In fact this is such a major mistake that it must have been a completely conscious one. And going ahead and doing what she has to do in full consciousness of the nonsense she’s wearing is about character. We’ve all been there. And we’ve all been in the fat bin at some point, so perhaps the first four commenters can dial it down a little.

    • we did not win Miss World, we didn’t market our ‘most beautiful woman’ image, we don’t get paid millions, we are not married into the first family of bollywood so I’m sorry but those comments are spot on.

  7. Fire your stylist Ash. You could have worn an over the edge short leather jacket, even a bolero over that gown. And you would have looked pretty good. You are way too conscious of your weight and hiding it makes it more apparent. Most importantly, change your hairstyle. It does wonders.

  8. a pant suit was an option, next time Aishwarya, you can rock a pant suit, with a ponytail. As it is you dont need much to look great :)

    • She did wear a black suit 3-4 appearances before for loreal or longines. I guess its too recent to repeat especially since her appearances are less common nowadays.

  9. Celebs should take inspiration from real women…the regular working women, women who are on the heavier side or women who dont have the perfect bodies. None of us need stylists to make us look good. We look good coz we dont give a damn and most often we get complimented for our choices. Celebs are always in a vanity trap. They work hard to look good and forget that its also the personality that got them where they are.

If only Ash realised that she is what she is not just for her looks and gained back her confidence, she would look way better and made the right choices…

  10. I think she looks stunning. The jacket looks cool with the dress. I don’t see anything wrong with pairing a dress with a jacket. I’ve seen it being done a lot here in London. Her face looks so beautiful too.

  11. She may be pregnant ??? otherwise, a pencil skirt with a lil baggy blouse would have enhance her curver rather than her looking even bigger . That hairstyle needs to go!! She used to be miss world or whatever but with her choices lately, thumbs down Ms. B

  12. She really ought to be left alone. Maybe clothes n fashion are not the most important thngs in her life at the point she is. As for the comments, well, what can you do but answer when the media thrusts microhones into your face and demands replies.
    Let her be, its okay.

  13. Actually, maxi dress and blazer can be such a cool thing is it’s done right. Sadly, in this case, that blazer is a downer!
A stunning, statement blazer would have worked great.. or even a shiny blazer with some cool accessories to bring it together would have worked. But this just looks like she wanted to cover up her arms.

Anyhow, it all comes down to confidence. I don’t think she has ever been confident to pull off a cool look. She has always been safe and boring.

    • Totally. A maxi dress with blazer done properly looks cool, but not a gown. I can’t believe a person with her pull could not have gotten a better blazer. That hair colour does her no good.
But most of all, the confidence is so lacking.
Her blue gown look in Cannes was good, and she was so much heavier then.

  14. I agree with people here. Never seen Ash wear silver. If only she didn’t have a blazer it would look so nice because the dress is gorgeous. Don’t worry about the weight Aish. You will get flak for your weight by some narrowminded losers, but that’s life. Most ppl respect the fact that you have other priorities in your life right now rather than weight. It doesn’t matter what weight you are, but you should accept it and dress to accentuate your curves rather than hide them.

  15. This look can be salvaged. A structured jacket, cinched at the waist, with a thin belt maybe, hair in a soft side bun with some sparkling jewels peeking through and this could go from drab to fab.

    • I like what you said. Instead of droning on and on about her desires to hide the weight, here is someone talking sense and more importantly talking fashion.
I agee with your suggestions. I would even argue that if she had rolled her blazer sleeves a little and worn her hair up, this look wouldn’t be half as bad.

  16. a beautiful face that cant salvage the fashion disaster! it is not the first time that Ash has a questionable fashion taste (and why not reach out to the best to get sound advice), but it is dismal that (for who cares for a few pounds extra) the even more unflattering choices are made – this woman could be in a league of her own, if only the poise and rationality was effortlessly apparent.

  17. Look at how every stylist thinks in town, awards event hai, chalo sequence gown dedo, kaam khatam. The actresses are looking like clones of each other and not even realising it. Some people are on a mission to make such beautiful women look stereotyped and trying-hard-to-fit-in-the-mould.

    • First of all it’s brownish-red. Not even close to looking orange. And secondly this is a fashion site so make comments on her clothes. Don’t understand why people are making comments on hair color. Her hair looks really healthy regardless of the color. Red hair is really in right now anyway. It’s called doing something different. Why shouldn’t she experiment with her hair color? She’s got the skintone and look where she can sport different hair colors. The people who are telling her to change her hair color are probably jealous cause they can’t!

      • Ummm… You do realize that hair colour ans style is a part of fashion, don’t you? Also hair colour has nothing to do with light skin tone. You must have surely seen Beyonce rocking all colours on her.
