Well Suited

Was that a collective sigh of relief I just heard? Who can blame you, no voluminous/heavy anarkali/suit/lehenga in sight is reason enough to celebrate. Ms. Bachchan’s recent appearance was both refreshing and a surprise.

In her blazer, button-down and cropped pants, Aishwarya looked good! An appearance that’d get an easy ‘we like‘… If we disregarded the hair. A shame really, not only does the severe center-parted straight hair weigh down the look but hides perhaps the most interesting detail- the studded collar Burberry shirt. But given past few appearances, perhaps this still does warrant a ‘we like‘, don’t you think?

    • what’s wrong with the length?
THey’re a pair of cropped pants – and they look about right for cropped pants to me!
But I agree with the rest of the commenters – this is a blah look at best. sad that it has come to the point that this is applauded on someone who has all the resources in the world at her feet

  1. Gotta love an Aishwarya post!

I’m impressed by the baby steps. Love the shoes. Not too keen on the shirt.

Nonetheless its a step in the right direction.

  2. Good to see her try something new. The trouser length could have been a wee bit more. The make-up problems are very apparent in the close-ups. But she looks good in these pictures.

  3. I like the black suit but not the studs on the collar, nor the shirt. Wish she had tied her hair though because the style is making her cheeks even rounder. Love the shoes. Lovely to see the change.

  4. I appreciate the step in the right direction, but it’s been apparent for a long time that she doesn’t have any innate sense of style. Her aesthetics is almost always dated, lacks focus or forced. She is immensely lucky to be the great beauty that she is because had her face been any less stunning, we wouldn’t even be talking about her in the realm of fashion.

  5. Why are we even discussing this look, she’s dressed like all young girls dress up as volunteers in exhibitions. She’s been a model, an (internationally famed) actor, brand ambassador to global brands, Cannes et all & we are glad whe she takes baby steps towards fashion and styling??

    • I agree with charu…thr’s nothing to really talk abt this look…a drab suit n same ole hair.. Jst bcoz she’s looked far worse isnt the reason we shud b applauding her… She needs to step out of her comfort zone considering the public stature she holds…

  6. Aishwariya needs a crash course in dressing and style she wore a lengha to a kitchen ware launch ! And this suit look is plain drab and matronly !!! Come on guys this look is not working one bit..

  7. my lawyer colleagues dress like this every single day to go to court. except they have their shirts tucked in and the suits are sharper. so this one is a “yaaawn” for me. ARB’s red tents are all probably at the dry cleaners anyway, and will be back soon, no worries.

btw PnP she’s done a lot of photo shoots and TVCs recently. please lets have posts covering those (in case i have missed them, sorry).

  8. doesnt matter if there is aythng to talk about this look or no.point u see is people still want to comment here n her purpose is done there.. 😛
guys who always have to criticise her at every minute.. wow… u r still following her… look at that…
newyas i liked the centre parting…this look is not for getting dressed n being plastic doll… its more towards the event and being simple.. i like it

  9. Not a fan of the outfit but more than anything, I absolutely dislike the hair. I never thought centre parting suited her, and as someone above said, it does make her face look rounder than it actually is. Even a side parting would have helped.

  10. if only she had tucked her shirt and worn chunky earrings or fastened her top button and worn a statement neck-piece, if only she had tied her hair in a sleek ponytail, if only she had worn normal pumps and not peep-toe ones, if only she had gone for red lippie and kept her eye-make up minimal… With her, the operative words always are If-Only!!!

    • No, with her the only words that describe her situation is “damned if she does, damned if she doesn’t”. NOTHING Aishwarya does is ever appreciated even though she has had some stellar fashion moments!

  11. agree with all the coments and the pretty penguin one 🙂
Though nice to see she has tried something different but not much appreciatble look.

  12. Really wish she had made this look more interesting – especially in way of hair and accessories… The hair somehow aged her badly, in a severe way

  13. I am so disappointed with the way her dressing has been in the past few years. While I was growing up, Aishwarya Rai was the definition of beauty and style for me. Models who were no where close to her looks, have matured and become so presentable and Aishwarya Rai, with her beautiful looks, is just no where in the league. I guess someone with style and decent looks wins hands down against someone with pure looks and no style.

  14. I’m tempted to cheer. Only because this is a welcome change from the circus tents. It’s good to see her in a semblance of form-fitting clothes!
Next step, Aishwarya: a pop of color and some appropriate jewelry.

Spotted this vid on youtube that seems to have ripped off your comments almost word for word on this Aishwarya Bachchan sighting. It’s shameful to see such blatant plagiarism. Can you lodge some kind of protest or complaint to stop this kind of stealing?
