Feeling Blue

It’s a ‘Love’ for me. And that’s not tennis speak.

Ms. Rai Bachchan looked absolutely lovely in a blue dress at the French Open, which she attended representing Longines. Having kept the make-up natural and the accessories minimal, she really let the vibrant blue of her dress do all the talking. Great move if you ask us! Now, if only the hair hadn’t gone unnoticed by her/her stylist.

  1. I don’t know if its just me but I am never able to make myself like any dress with an empire waistline on her. just below her waistline this dress is making her look short and broad.

  2. Hey, I have a maxi in the same print. I bought it 12 yrs back in Shoppers Stop and it looks great as well!!
I don’t mind the tousled hair. Very summery. She is after all at a sports event.

  3. love, love the colour on her ….. Though i am curious – does one wear a maxi to a match ??? …. actually, i have never understood where can one wear a non-formal maxi ? …. they remind me too much of night wear …

  4. I like the dress though it sits oddly on her. But a neat ponytail would have made her look 5 years younger and so much more fresh.

    • the french open is quite formal… u’d be surprised at how many people really dress up in their designer duds… quite unlike the aussie open which is a lot more casual and trackie dacks are the way to go! 🙂

  5. The dress is a bit too long for an out in the sun all day tennis match. I think a shorter hemline and a wide brim hat would have looked better.. But hey, she still looks gorgeous!

  6. LOVE the dress: design, color, not the length though. Been looking for something similar to this. Any ideas who this is by or something similar?

  7. Actually thought it was quite inappropriate for a tennis match. A nice casual dress with some long chains, and the tousled hair would have looked great. Maybe even a pant with a tee and a scarf.

    • Take it from someone who has sat in the VIP box at the Grand Slams, the maxi dress is very appropriate. There are usually events going on during and after the match in the VIP lounge.

It is a great once in a lifetime experience to be there with all the celebrities and players

  8. I am beginning to love her new sense of style…somehow she looks more comfortable in her own skin these days, and the smiles look genuine..and she looks like she totally rocks the mid-thirties. More power to her I say!

  9. The color Blue is too cool!
It is funny how people think maxi is inappropriate at French Open 🙂 :). But then i remember me dressing up for my first US open. All in sporty wear, trying to fit in the part..as if any time i could be called to replace Venus.

  10. If you look at pictures of the other people who attended, I think Aishwarya’s outfit was very appropriate. Like others have mentioned, not all sports events are casual – case in point, the Kentucky Derby. The French Open is a bit more relaxed, but still formal.

  11. I don’t like most gowns on her. Her body type doesn’t lend itself gracefully to them. She looks much better in Indian wear, so if she must wear a gown, she should choose them carefully. There are very few silhouettes that suit her.

    • i think you are bored with her…there is something always lacking in her…i mean she never stands out… whenever i look at Jennifer Lopez i say wow even though i know the fact that JLO is not as beautiful as aishwarya,i think she lacks style attitude and elegance which is more inn now days then being a perfect beauty!!

  12. I was sooo disappointed with this appearance considering how absolutely chic she’s looked in the past at this event (remember her dark hair, skinnies, white blazer, light white eyeshadow and mascara with a flushed lip look?). Compared to that appearance her hair is a mess, it doesn’t look tousled, it looks straggled and her ends need a good chop. I’m surprised people think a maxi was inappropriate because it was too dressy! I think it was inappropriate because it was too casual! If she had a pair of aviators on some glads and a starbucks coffee in hand she’d be able to hit the streets rather than representing a reputable watch company!
