Saw the white on another site, and I thought: “Sorry Aishwarya, I cannot look at the watch because you are so pretty”.
The first look: I feel embarrassed for her.

    Huge fan

I rather like the Black look. Gothic.

The white is nothing but a lace tablecloth
The black is an edgy look quite tame in comparison to some others there but the make up is horrendous . It’s so harsh and extreme . Why that face needs so much paint I don’t know .

Trust you guys to write a paragraph on the look you didn’t like of Ash and a line for the look you did.
Loveee the white look. She looks ravishing. The black look is cringe worthy..

Hunterrwaliiii…the lace look is so dreamy and the black look is such a huge embarassment

The white one is OK. The black one is literal Victorian goth. While I personally love gothic, this is almost cosplay rather than inspiration. What in the world possessed her stylist to come up with this?!

Oh dear Lord, what a crime of a fashion. Yves Saint Laurent sums it up best “It pains me physically to see a woman victimized, rendered pathetic by fashion.”

She is looking nice in the white dress..

In the black get up she reminded me of ” Cruella De Vel” from the movie 101 Dalmatians…no kidding. She looks scary as hell.

Neither of the two looks are good…the black worse than the white. If i do like anything it’s the hat with the black outfit. That particular black hat with the white maxi is just wrong.

The white look is very dreamy and pretty, but I am really fascinated by the gothic black look which is very 1920’s.

I am liking both the looks. Especially the black one which has so much drama. It’s definitely a polarising look which most won’t like, I for one, really like. Those dual colored nails are so interesting.

She looks hideous in the black outfit. Also the hat doesn’t do much for her face and the bottom of the skirt looks as if it had an encounter with Edward scissor hands on the way.

The only reason the white outfit looks even remotely good is because the black one is just so awful.

She looks her divine self in the white one. The black look doesn’t seem that bad and the only thing I would have changed is the type of makeup. She should have gone the whole way with the goth look.

The white lace look is so serene and I am in awe of the dramatic black look. The fascinator is working so well with the black look. Very gothic!!!

I don’t understand the black look for a day event in summer…if you see the pics from the event you will notice the rest of the guests were all dressed in summer colors and flowy gowns..

  22. style saga at | | Reply

the longines watch is not even visible in the black outfit.. i cant decipher her style choices.. even after so much experience, she fails to select an event / day appropriate look ! fail !

  23. kanu at | | Reply

    why Ash why..??
I cant believe she agreed to wear this, I know fashion means experimenting n trying out new things, but, it also mean to know whats best fr you,
when I was a little girl, I used to look at Ash n think she is so beautiful she can never look ” not pretty”.. today she proves me wrong,,, she is looking scary ( just the outfit n the make up) she still is a pretty lady though,.. but that is one big disaster….

In other news, Ash and her black ensemble get picked for the Maleficient sequel!

There’s a word for that black outfit. I believe it to be bananaballs.

The black one reminds me of a gothic mary poppins!

It takes a lot of work to make one of the most beautiful women in the world look so hideous. But that black outfit does it. It could have been iconic (I love the goth look when done well) but she just looks uncomfortable, the outfit is ill-fitting and it looks messy and incomplete.

The white dress is just blah. But Aish is very hit or miss with outfits generally. She usually only kills it at Cannes so you know. Par for the course.

She looks like she’s playing some character in Downton Abbey. A night gown and a riding look. ridiculous.

  29. D at | | Reply

To say this (the one in black) wasn’t a day look is an understatement. I don’t think this would work at any time of the night either, because it just is no good!

Can someone take this light geisha makeup away from her? Where did the natural beauty from Taal go?

  31. Hepburn at | | Reply

The black outfit reminds me of the villains in Dickens and other old English novels. The pics of the first outfit actually scare me. :-(

The black outfit is hideous . A madonna gone wrong.
    its funeral perfect though!

Love the black outfit , reminds me of lady Mary in mourning from Downton abbey!!!! As for the white …..blah!!

  34. Unda murgi at | | Reply

Speechless! The black dress makes Aishwarya look scary. It’s halloween appropriate and does not belong on the red carpet.

  35. Eclat at | | Reply

She and Ranveer Singh could be the manipulative ringmasters of a Victorian travelling freakshow, featuring The Incredible Bearded Lady! and The Native who eats Humans!, who sit in the shadows of their caravan clinking coins and luring in innocents.
No really, why would one do steampunk to a posh daytime race, when one is, in reality, just about as Gothic as my grandma sitting in her prayer room with her beads?

  36. Ruby at | | Reply

I like both the looks !! She’s experimenting guys give her a break….. would you rather she wear one of her freaking anarkali’s!!!! NO! So I kinda like the fact that she is trying new looks kudos to her.

  37. ritika at | | Reply

I am wondering if it was a Victorian era hunting day out theme party that Aishwarya went to, in that black outfit. If yes, she is totally killing it.! And I mean it in a good way.

  38. Rhea at | | Reply

    what’s with the eyebrow? :S

  39. Ashes of Roses at | | Reply

She should stop the jacket-over-dress trend. She looks nice waist up in the white look. I liked her make up there. Would take this any day over the tacky blingy A&J anarkalis in garish colours.

Quirky, the black one! Nice that she knows how to rock an offbeat look, though it’s kind of a sharp contrast to the image traditionally associated with Longines. Btw watches that are just like men’s but smaller are strictly officewear to me. For gowns, etc, only very feminine, braceletlike, watches match imo. So even Aish endorsing these doesn’t make me covet them.
