Black Out

You know how home/paint stores have paint color strips, a card/swatch with a many different varying shades of one color…? Well, Aishwarya looks like she picked black on the color wheel and wore every shade she could find. This look of hers, not a favorite of ours.

  1. Sick husband at home and jet lagged – last any women want to is to get dolled up. Aishwarya looks elegant and beautiful. Men have tweeter that Aish looked stunning at the event. So give her a break and stop picking on her.

  2. although i love the hair and the make up, i cant quite say the same about the outfit. wish she ingested a bit of colour (other than black) in there!

  3. oh my god! noo!!! the basic thing is atleast pick the same black!??! only thing good about this look is her hair, it looks shiny and volumnous.

  4. Aishwarya looks elegant even if the blacks don’t quite match. She was one of the few well dressed attendees in a sea of tacky or ill fitting outfits.

  5. not liking the commando outfit at all but her face looks pretty. wish she had used a contrasting clutch or some colored shoes at least. would have made all the difference.

  6. omg! what is aishwarya wearing with everyone dressed in colorful gowns etc she looks so out of place.

May be its the pants or the side hair parting, makes her look little short.

  7. This is for “fun, fearless Cosmo” right?
She always comes across as so matronly with her perfect blow-dried, curled hair and secretary look, and she’s the same age as I am too. I’d love for her to just have fun with fashion, a la Michelle or Natasha Poonawala- a lovely cocktail dress and hair up, instead of being Miss-world-y, cultural ambassador-y, bacchan-bahu-y all the bl*&^y time. If I had her looks or her money… but that’s a whole other daydream!

  8. I hate different shades of black being paired together – the camera flash will never let it hide.
But, I like the fit of the jacket, – its not uncomfortably tight as some of her clothes have been lately.

  9. Aish sometimes reminds me that money and beauty doesn’t equal to good taste in clothes. She manages to do okay most times. This look is not that bad but it reminds me of some of her disasters.

  10. Aishwarya has no style sense whatsoever. She always looks unimaginably tacky without her Cannes stylist.

However, I do like that Aishwarya and a few others like Sonam and Anushka are wearing pants to some events instead of the itty bitty skin showing tight dresses all the other starlets (cough Priyanka cough) won’t leave behind for one day.

    • Oh yes…I’ve commented about a million times on this very blog how much I hate cocktail dresses. (Even though Ash goes with a ‘suit’ more for lack of creativity – she has her evening gowns/saris for when she is being the Bachhan bahu/tent-like salwar suits for semi-formal events/these ugly pant-suits from the ’80’s for when she doesn’t know what to wear.)

  11. Guys, this is a fashion blog. Not a look “How pretty Ash is” blog.

    1. Ash, if you want to wear suit separates please make sure they are coordinated.
    2. Those.damn.shoes. What are those?
    3. I’ve always noticed, when Aishwarya is stumped about what to wear, she ends up conjuring this obscure thing called a “suit” which makes her look horrible in the bargain. Whether its the Armani dinner or the Cosmo awards.

    Oh Ash!

    • Second that!!!!
When we are here to discuss fashion, i fail to understand why the talk always gravitates to “But she looks so pretty”… particularly in the case of Aish. I doubt there will be too many who will say she is not stunning, but if she dresses atrociously, it will get pointed out, obviously!

  12. Helen Mirren looks more glamourous and has more fun with fashion than her. And she might be 30 years her senior.

Seriously you dont have to wear strapless gowns all the time, but this??

  13. Stunning! It’s very Armani, but personalized and not stylized. Love her look, very Jackie O. Fabulous to the extreme. Not typically celebrity, more bon chic bon genre all grown up. Gorgeous ….

    • Personalized? How? With that tacky zip? This is not Jackie O. This is downright UNSTYLISH. Who pairs different shades of black together? Plus the outfit is extremley dated. It might have been chic in the 90s. Not so much anymore!

      • “Who pairs different shades of black together?”

That’s the best part about Fashion. There are no rules. At least not for fashionistas! And isn’t this awards called Fun Fearless Female awards? It obviously is about being fun and fearless!

And rightly so, Ash won the award fun, fearless female of all-time! 😀

  15. “Aishwarya’s power suit was on trend and sophisticated all at once. There’s something so sexy about a glamorous woman in a menswear-inspired two piece. And when it comes to power suits, what better brand to pick that the king, Armani,” says Nandini Bhalla, Editor of Cosmopolitan.

  16. If i mismatch my blacks it’s ok. Ash cannot afford to…. jacket looks navy after a while! The whole outfit looks cheap. Nevertheless, her face is the saving grace…beautiful.

  17. The world’s prettiest woman has a horrendous dress sense…lets face it. This look is dowdy and tacky and nothing like how a star should dress. Thumbs down from me!
