In Aiisha Ramadan

Aishwarya attended the trailr unveiling of Sarabjit wearing a pink dress by Dubai based Lebanese designer, Aiisha Ramadan.

Let’s first talk about the pros, shall we? The color of the dress was striking and the simplicity of the look worked in her favor. She did look pretty overall.

Now, the cons. If you really look at her, this is pretty much a pink frock worn with glittery pumps which is the the dress code of almost every lil’ girl living. Why this silhouette. Why not a nice sheath?

Do the pros outweigh the cons for you? Love it as is? Comment away.

  1. First of all, reading this post and your description, I feel like you surely have got a new intern, lol. Is it? 😛

Now coming back to Aishwarya – She looks lovely to me in this look. The problem is, she is so beautiful, that one elements too many end up ruining her entire look. Cakey makeup, faded coloured unstructured gowns, heavy eye makeup, bling-gaudy stuff and the list goes on do nothing for her. She looks the best when she keeps it simple & basic. It accentuates her timeless beauty!

  2. I think she looks great. So yes, this is a standard routine for little girls. But then white dresses and gowns mean something else to someone, or a red saree might mean something else…

She does look good and age-appropriate, doesn’t she?

  3. But why NOT this silhouette?
    She certainly pulls it off
and for once looks young and fresh. I adore this look on her. doesn’t look overdone or that she’s trying to be the Bachhan daughter-in-law and mum over herself. Not that there’s anything wrong with that but I feel like that identity at times seems to overwhelm…and the only time I see her step out of it in overseas at Cannes
So it’s refreshing to see Ash as herself, her beauty shining through. And having fun with her clothes

  4. Lovely dress. Lovely woman. Styled all wrong! Wrong hair, wrong shoes, wrong makeup, wrong jewellery.
When the stylist consistently does a bad job isn’t it time to move on?

    • You wil have to know it´s badly done first! ;P

I saw the dress & immediately thought of sonam Kapoor frocks from like 2-3 years ago & Alia Bhatt would wear the heck out of this. Aishwarya is still searching for that new look to match this era of her career. This is not it. Not quite

  5. Lol the third pic! Aish is somewhat a celestial body not a human hence proved. She can float in midair too! 😛 On an aside such photography or photoshops whatever it is are hilarious. Who is the criminal behind this!

  6. Firstly, great reporting on this look P&P! I really enjoy your objective outlook on all these celebrity appearances.

As negative as it might seem, this is a dress more well suited for Aishwariya’s daughter. I am really surprised that after all these years in the glamor industry, she would pick up this silhouette. Very disappointed with this look, when she can certainly do much better.

  7. She looks gorgeous, cannot believe you guys are finding fault with this look; this does not look like a little girl’s frock by any measure; she should have worn a sheath? How cliched. I thought we were so done with the basic sheath plus pop of color look

  8. Yeah my 3 year old and almost all of her friends have the same or very similar dress. Fashion sense is absolutely lacking sadly. Except for Cannes she rarely does well anyway.

  9. I can see all the points of view on this one. Not the greatest dress but pretty enough – what makes it go completely downhill for me is the choice of shoes. Unfortunately, the footwear takes the look from lackluster into Cindrella/princess category. She still looks lovely and the simplicity does work in her favour.

  10. Horrible hair, terrible saritorial choices. Poor aish never changes her hairstyle and hence looks the same everytime! But this is some other level of low for her. NOT PRETTY AT ALL!

    • Totally agree! It’s ground hog day all the time. Straight flat hair – check, heavy make up – check, unflattering outfit – check, hands on hips – check, PR to write flattering comments on websites – check 🙂

  11. She looks gorgeous – no doubt. The color looks great on her. She does have a little bit of a teen-princess aesthetic sometimes. I wish she had at least accessorized the look to make it her own and make it more interesting. Its basically all pink and glitter. But at least its well fitted and flattering.

  12. So age inappropriate. She looks like a child playing dress up. She does look very sweet and pretty no doubt but this woman will just never get one whole look right from head to toe.

  13. Why cannot ARB dress age appropriately? Doesn’t have to be frumpy outfits, but better silhouettes and owning her personality. She always comes across as insecure and defensive.

    • Agree about her being insecure and defensive. I think she feels she can wear anything and make it look good. Maybe because she is pretty she thinks every outfit will work.

      • Yes. Also she seems obsessed with being perfect all the time. Every pose looks contrived. I wish there was a way to tell her it’s ok to let your personality shine!! She’s 41, not some high school tween vying for Ms. Perfect crown . During trailer launch she said how she has acted, spoken, dressed exactly like her director told her, it’s almost like she is making a ground to blame the director if anything goes wrong!

  14. I saw just the top half scrolling down and thought she finally wore something sensible……..
and then I scrolled all the way down… *if only* this were a sheath…
I just don’t get how someone with her resources get its wrong every single time.

But credit where its due, her face looks good, not caked up as had been recently.

  15. Yes, the dress has a ‘barbie princess’ vibe, but she still looks good. I would have preferred the length to be shorter, couple of inches below the knee perhaps. But the shoes…a big NO.

  16. Neck up she looks good…Thank God she kept it light and fresh and didnt cake on makeup..coming to the dress, not only the silhouette is bad but also the dress is bad, the material does not look good to me specially at the bust. It looks tacky…the color although is very pretty. If Ash had chosen another dress in this color, that would have been great

  17. She looks good. I like. Seen Kangana do frock with heels and that too with those ugly tiny bags she is very fond of, so I don’t see why Aishwarya can’t experiment. And thank god she is never one of those clowns who show up in clothes that are always smaller in size for them.

  18. Aaaargh!!!! From Huge Anarkalis to frocks, we definitely need a stylist… Let’s not even start about hair n heels…
Are you still looking for intern?? Or big opportunity gone?

  19. We want her to change things and not always dress up in black or grey colors and when she does, she is always criticized. At least she is not trying very hard to look fashionista.
It is a change from her usual dressing style and I like her look. 🙂

  20. It seems like she was playing dress up with Aradhya and dint have time to change!!
But, cannot ignor the pretty face though!

  22. Ash looks like a little girl playing dress up again…wrong silhouette and same same same hair everytime…I’m bored outta my wits. I love those shoes but they don’t go with this outfit. If she really wanted to change things up….A Victoria Beckham draped floor length dress, deep eyes and hair in a ponytail would’ve done the trick. Ash hire me…I’ll style u for free!!!

  23. Mother to a toddler doesn’t mean you dress up like one.
A pretty face is no excuse to dress up like this. Remember they are film stars and pretty is a subtext for all of them, whether they dress to play the part of a glamorous star is what they need to be judged about and Ms. Rai certainly doesn’t ever do justice to the title.
