It was a reel-life couple the first time around and this time Vogue India presents a real-life couple on their July edition. Like?

Aishwarya’s dress feels very Lanvin-esque.

  1. lol, why is abhishek glowering at the camera so, he is looking like a little kid clinging to his mom on first day school and saying mujhe ghar janaa hain 😉

  2. Don’t care how much air brushing has been used – both look hot together in this pic. However, that being said, the colors of Abhishek’s clothes are terrible for his skin coloring. Or maybe they look terrible because of the light.

  3. Oh ,They look perfect…I dont understand how so they edit .She is looking so slim .Her face looks bloated in Ravan.

  4. tbh Ash is looking kinda scary in the photo, like she’s gonna start sucking his blood in a minute. Dont get me started on AB’s guyliner!
Just my opinion but i think these two are getting overexposed…a zillion movies together before and after marriage, then all these interviews where the press can’t get over the fact that Ash is a Bachchan and keep asking her what it’s like (not her fault), and lately they’re even hawking Lux soap together. I kinda miss the days when Aishwarya Rai was just Aishwarya Rai, before she signed up with brand Bachchan™ 🙁

Anyways I love the dress she has on but that’s about it. The pose looks wierd… it might suit John and Bips but somehow I dont really want to see Ash straddling AB while he looks like hes running his hand up her thigh. It looks kind of ick

    • exact my thoughts about Aishwarya’s makeup looking scary and her awkward pose. yuck…That pose doesn’t suit her image and expression.

    • I totally agree with you, it all looks kind of staged and ‘look at what a sexy couple we are’. Sorry, but sexy is not a word I associate with these two, maybe with bips and john as someone mentioned before. Ash looks totally photoshopped but pretty gorgeous though, I have to give her that.

  5. why do they need to show off their relationship. They should keep it personal and dignified. Atleast if they pose for these magazines or do ads can’t it be neat and nice.
Also all these ads and magazines try to copy the western people I mean where’s the Indian style why everything should be the western style ?
Before Sridevi, Madhuri etc used to pose for thse magazines in Sari’s, Chudidhaars, Gagras (& western clothes too) but now these traditional dress are being limited to only special occasions in India also.
Though there’s nothing wrong in following western style but not so much that we forget the diverse Indian culture and heritage.

    • Ash wears saris too, and she has not in anyway forgotten Indian culture. It’s just called globalization and progress, the inevitable move foward.

Living *exactly* like we lived 20 or 50 or 100 years ago is not culture, its just being backward, which so many people fail to grasp. There is still PLENTY of Indian culture in India, and just as we have imported some western elements of life, Indian culture too has travelled to western countries (yoga, bollywood’s popularity overseas, Indian food etc)

This cover is perfectly dignified, I dont see in the least how it is vulgar or offensive. I meah, how a married couple being a little affectionate is wrong?? Can we please be a tiny bit broadminded and open to progress, some of the comments on this blog are getting pretty oppressive.

      • Totally agree with you!! People are so hypocritical. They wanna call India progressive and yet they are so narrow minded. These same people probably do’t know the first thing about their culture or heritage. Abhishek and Ash are a fabulous couple balancing Indian and western attitudes perfectly. I Love the cover. Its stylish, sexy in a subtle way and grabs my attention! Thats what a cover should be!! And even though im a huge fan of days gone by we need to look at the youth of india, the kind of movies being made and the massive chnge the country has undergone in last 10years. Get with the times.

    • Desperate to ‘get with it’ and ape the westerners Arpitha – its quite sad really. I guess in this day and age we all wear western wear and its silly to say we shouldn’t at all, but i agree with you these people represent India and are in a prime position to show off all the beautiful sarees ect there are out there. I wish they’d take the opportunity to showcase those more. You know sometimes I pick up one of these magazines hoping to get some inspiration/ ideas for Indian clothes and theres not a single pic to be found of a saree, churidaar kameez in the whole damn thing! Its a bit pathetic really.

      • Well, who is asking them to live exactly like 20-30 50 years ago. I say live like today…but today can be Indian too. And while westerners might be seeing more of India…India also needs to remember a little of herself.

Globalisation can also mean taking forward your own country global, not neccesarily aping others.

Married couple being affectionate is definitely not a prob, but this pics a bit unnatural…it just too wannabe sexy…like someone mentioned john & bips are more likely to carry this pose off with sincereity

  6. Why does she have to do scary eye make up. She looks older than Abhishek, who looks like rickshaw driver he need to clean up his look.

    Reply
    • she looks older than Abhi, becuase she is 🙂 And there is nothing wrong with the her looking older, especially when she looks this fabulous

  7. Love the blue colour . It compliments her and brings her eyes out. She wore a similar shade of blue in 2006 cannes festival. It was a Roberto Cavalli if i remmeber correctly with a serpent choker. She looked stunning then and still continue to look that way even today. However I would like to see this dress when she is standing up. Abhishek has zero style and why is he wearing eye liner or kajal. Is he still living the Raavan nightmare.I wish someone would tell me looking intense or hot does not mean knotting your eyebrows till you or the viewer gets a headache. In fact he can take that lesson from his own Dad who has mastered the intense look.

    • I have seen racier covers with John and Bipasha and they were really good. This one is awkward….the pose the expressions everything screams wannabeish sexy.

      • I actually find the pose unassuming and very natural. The expression in Aish ‘s face is really sweet. I was referring to a picture of Madhu Sapre and Milind Soman about 15 years ago, that had the whole country up in arms for its so called indecency.

  8. These two remind of Edward and Bella from Twilight!!!Just a tad more powder and eyeliner on Abhishek may have cinched the deal. And no I am not a twilight fan.

  9. Beautiful cover! Aishwarya looks smokin hot. Abhishek on the other hand would have looked better with a clean shaven and without the Raavan eye make up look.

  10. its a nice try but abhishek’s left hand is scaring me ….. it looks like someone else’s hand …… Its not looking like a happy couple’s pic

  11. omgosh I LOVE it. aish looks like “yeah thats my man and i love him and im happy” and abhi looks like he’s thinking ” What are u looking at huh? thats right…she’s mine and don’t u dare touch her” LOL

  12. Me no likey!.. they wanted this pose to look very oh-so-in-love, however it comes across as a very cheap pose. Hate the way Ash is sitting…..!

something is off with her eyes/face…cant pinpoint!

AB baby has to throw his kajal box into mumbai sea forever!

  13. Aishwarya Rai looks pretty…i wonder what her dress is like…the pic doesnt reveal much about it…by the way, Abhishek has a weird expression on…he looks stiff…

  14. love the cover.Loving aishwarya’s hair and eye makeup…..good for a change.
Strongly feel photoshop was used at its best especially for giving a chiselled look on Abhi’s face…but its working well for them…a treat for the eyes.

  15. Aishwarya looks like a million bucks, the color is so lovely. Umm not too sure about Abhi though and what’s with the makeup, I don’t get it.

  17. That’s a really wierd shot.
They look nothing like husband and wife. It looks like Abhishek is too scared of something in front of him and Aishwarya is protecting / consoling him – unless that’s what they want to potray!!
Those two can look really good together if they want to,, why do they look trying soo hard.

I love the color of Aishwarya’s dress though !!

  21. OMG!! No offence, but Abhishek is capable of looking so deliciously goood? Hotness! Aish looks tired and for once is upstaged by her husband!!
In fact his face looks soo chiselled and yummy! wow! Please noone burst my bubble by saying its photoshopped!!!

  22. I am little mixed about this one.. I liked the Kajol and Sharukh cover better, thought it had more class. this one is OK.. am sure this magazine is a sell out and all but just judging by the covers.. me no like this one

  23. Its a very nice cover, i think they got both of them to look sexy at the same time 🙂 She looks very very young here, not that she old or anything. I think the make up is great on her.

They have achieved what they were trying to get out of this photoshoot.

and yes Abhishek looks HOT, kajal or no kajal.

  24. I have mixed opinions on this one – Ash does look older to him. I am not sure Abhi’s pose/look is right..something is missing in this pic – the warmth and comfort is not showing….maybe they are trying too hard!!!

  25. Love Aishwarya. She looks beautiful in that dress. Abhishek otoh has his same unkempt look. Why can’t he just shave? Hope he realizes that he is no Johnny Depp to work a guy liner.

  26. abhishek was wearing eyeliner in the interview he did with simi garewal right after he broke up with karishma years ago. just saw 2 mins of the repeat this evening on star world. he wore thick eyeliner at his wedding to aish too. guess somebody told him he looks good with it. really good with it. personally i dont much care for guys with eyeliner.

  27. drilling this bachchan mania into our heads is not so fun anymore. Nay,I don feel this cover. Its emotionless and love lacking!
Aish’ does look like a vampire ready to such AB’s blood. And AB looks ridiculous with that makeup and stupid glance….huge disappointment. The Kajol SRK cover had so much more spark in it…hmmmm

    Reply
  28. In the Kajol and SRK cover, SRK had a strange scowl on his face. In this one Abhi is like “she is mine, don’t you dare come near her otherwise I will suck the blood out of you” and Ash’s like “Hmmm I like that” ahahahhahaha! Please Vogue work with the expressions!

  29. I love the photo shoot but really wish both of them put their left hands away from each other… it would have showed they are affectionate and give each other space too!

  30. This photoshopped photo is really a combination of Twilight and Raavan gone haywire.. I used to be a real big fan of AB but now seeing his photos like this where he is weird and snooty at the same time I find him kind of uninteresting and replusive ..Aish is pretty although i m not a fan of her but she is still able to pull this look off..

  31. Whats with Abhi’s expression
??/looks like he doesnt want nyone near her. And whats with kajal in his eyes? Ash looks gorgeous as usu.

  32. oh god, they completely did away with the ‘G’ in the name of the magazine!
dont like his jacket (from the photoshoot video), but they look nice.

amazing how aishwarya is either loved or hated. there is no neutral ground for her!

  33. 1. Very awkward pose- if u look closely she is NOT exactly sitting on his lap…and looks really awkward…hmmm my imagination is slightly running wild here 🙂

    2. they should learn a thing or two from other real-life hollywood/bollywood couples…

    3. that guyliner isnt working and DOES NOT make him any rocker..sorry! looks really weird on him though!

  34. hehehe…they both are trying to give sultry looks with their eyes..which somehow is not working..looks like shez lusting over the guy standing behind the camera..and hez getting super J..!!

  35. I love this cover. I think its one of Vogue’s best. Love the effortless angelic vibe that Ash is giving out. And to support her, Abhishek is looking endearing and absolutely love it when he lines his eyes with kohl. Such a refreshing change to the usually posy, open shirted, 6 pack ab’d actors. Well done!
