Overwhelmingly floral, floral saris seem to be the trend! After Mini Mathur and Tina Ambani, we now spotted Sonali in one!

  1. i know i should hate it but i kinda like
i would have liked it a whole lot more if it was just the black with the orange flowers without the additional white and orange stuck on
but still it’s a fun sari
wish she had done something more fun with her hair too

  2. Actually love the look. Reminiscent of the seventies when printed silk saris were popularized by Rekha in ghar and other movies. Absolutely love the amber and black combo. Like the way sonali has minimal accessories. The cutaway sleeves on the blouse with the mock mandarin collar looks simple and elegant. It could have gotten busy had she done a printed blouse. It is perfect now. So much better than a chamak dhamak saree with over the top blouses.

  3. oh wow! i haven’t seen her look this good in ages! i just wish that there wasn’t that detailing on the waist area of the saree which makes her hips look wider, otherwise, she’s looking fab!

  4. reminds me of a chinese silk sari my grandmum used to have in the early 80s (bought in dubai or singapore not sure which)……i would have actually preferred a different border or an all over print. But best would be not to wear it at all..i don’t like it.

  5. I kind of like it… kind of, a lot? agree with ‘hardisnot’ … the whole look is very vintage 70s. my mum has a beautiful printed sari similar to this in green.

  6. She looks nice here. I blouse is elegant and complements the busy saree very well. The saree itself is nice and retro, I would have liked it a lot more if it was only black and amber.
All in all its a nice change from the blingy ones everyone wears.

  7. Agree with Megha. had the sari been just the black with flowers on it, would’ve been better.

however, i don’t mind this, as this is the first time she has worn something praiseworthy!

i love the blouse! i wanted such a blouse too! but obviously the tailor ruined it! *sigh*

  8. Just love it. Reminds me of Femina cover in 70’s. This looks suits her in many ways. Love the color, the cut of the blouse and print of the sari.

  9. I love it! That means my mums 70’s saris are back in fashion – yay! I think the blouse design stops it looking dated and thats probabley what you should do if you’re going to wear an overly retro sari like this.

  10. This is definitely an improvement, but still not there. I would like to see her in something simple and elegant. She aced the hair+makeup though.

  12. the panel look/design is in – that’s why all the various prints and panels mixed together – i actually like it and its such a relief to move past jazzy embroidery.
