In Sabyasachi
First, he gifted Kareena with a Chanderi sari, and to continue his promotion of the dying art of weaving and plight of weavers, Aamir stepped out at the premiere of ‘3 Idiots’ wearing a 3-piece suit by Sabyasachi made from hand-woven materials. We thought he looked quite dapper and wore it well. What say you?

I know you all love Sabyasachi but let’s be honest here. That suit is ill-fitting and needs tailoring. It makes him look short and stocky instead of slim and trim.
The fabric is nice though.
true
It is very badly tailored..
saw him on tv as well…
he luks dashing 🙂
I love the suit – the shirt/tie combo, not so much.
I love Aamir and I loved the movie. So fresh and Hilarious!!! 😀
i lovee <3
He looks great.
I think that brown vest, jacket and pants is a an overkill.
Wow my respect for him just increased 3 fold. So nice to see someone that actually walks the talk. Don’t really like the cut of the suit, but hey, it’s a beginning. Hope more people get back to basics and hop off the shiny satin/polyester bandwagon onto this one!
blah ! …. that colour …. just gives a very old looking
YESSS! A male look that I like, finally.Fab, very fab.
I wonder, why is that we hardly ever see our male celebs in even remotely traditional clothing? And why is that the media is collectively moaning about how the sari has disappeared off the B’wood red carpet, but they never seem to mind that the kurta has as well? Hmm…
Seriously, lets give Shekar Suman, his son, Abishek Bahchan and Saif Ali Khan some Sabya suits, pronto. Can the man ever do any wrong? (except for Vidya’s christmas sari disaster, but hey NO one is perfect!)
ooooooh, doesn’t the suit TOTALLY remind you of Vidya’s red Sabya Sari:

i cdunt figure out wat u were saying…untill my friend pointed the shirt and her blouse…
Fine observation there, missy. 😀
It totally does! 😀
I totally agree that it would be nice if the males wore more traditional outfits as well.
Saif seems to wear more traditional outfits now. He was yet again looking Nawab-like** at the same event Aamir, Kareena and the rest o the 3 idiots were at.
**Nawab-like, except for the bandanna on his head. But still, other than the bandanna, which he should loose, I hope he keeps up with the kurtas and vests.
While we’re at it, when doing casual, don some kurtas like he te ones he sports in Kurbaan (though they may be better suited for Delhi weather).
*lose* not loose
typo
its blah why not white or beige
brown is not a color iv warmed upto ever, atleast for a 3 piece suit!!!!! makes him look stocky and the pants look too high waited jus like aamir likes them!!!! hhahahahahahaahahah
He is a real short guy, but carries this suit with such elan. love the colors- so earthy, and that polka dotty shirt for the contrast.. love love love.
really i wish more people would wear organic clothing!
He looks cool in evrythn he wears & does…………Love d way he has taken up the cause:))))))
I love the ‘texture’ and how different this suit is than the usual. Men’s clothing hardly have any variation, and kudos to Sabya for thinking out of box and to Amir for wearing it so well and encouraging this trend. If this material is popularized, it’ll do a lot of good to a lot of poor weavers in India. Funny, but I like the shirt tie combo too: dramatic but appropriate for a premier, but a white or red shirt would do well too. The tailoring could have been better to make him look taller.
His height always kills it for him, especially for formal looks. Though that’s not his fault and he looks cute 🙂
I LOVE AAMIR EVEN MORE AHORA! OMFG Sabyashachi for men? Smart man.
nice suit, but who cares, i cant go beyond that face and smile.
I think its the vest.. if only it had been with one top button less he wouldnt have looked stocky.. the colors kind a Okayish.. not many can carry it with such elan…but I agree with the above comment – who cares abt the suit…
I love the texture and the shirt and tie combo! the suit could have been better fitted – but kudis to him for starting a trend in India – perfect for the weather- I am hoping more and more people will follow!
hey…this is sabya here…our country is going through a ciltural revolution where we are finally understanding our strengths and using internal resources which if promoted the right way can truly establish our country as a true global leader, which i think this country naturally is.
u cannot bypass thousands of years of history.
both aamir and vidya have been wearing a lot of khadi and vidya has been patronising prints from bagru..
the guy whose print vidya and aamir are wearing is a national award winning textile person.
this particular print comes at less than two hundred rupees a metre, cant be produced at demand, goes through more than ten complicated natural dyeing and printing processes, yet we covet georgette from china whic is available at the press of a button…figure out..
Hi Pepsi!
theek bolechho! 🙂 Indian handloom is awesome! it’s unfortunate that talented artisans in India who produce these get a pittance in return eventhough the end product sells at a premium at places like Fabindia.
