Wow! Paris Fashion truly started with a bang! As quirky as this collection is, it truely is loveable!
A butterfly gown with 1500 multi-colored glow in the dark butterflies. Hand mudras on a shirt! Multi-colored hearts on a jacket. And that shoe!!
So whimsical but still loved it! Simply loved it!

Suneet Varma celebrated 21 years in fashion with a celebratory ball and fashion show and I must say I was really disappointed. Dominated by cutwork embroidery and mettalic hues, the collection was such a letdown.
I had so hoped to be blown away, considering the collection he presented at India Splendor back in August was so vibrant and regal! I gotta say it.. I totally hated it!

Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton’s Fall 2007 ready to wear collection did these super chunky, gladiator’esque shoes, almost invoking the inner dominatrix in a woman! And now, I notice the same sort of shoes being worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the upcoming Sex And The City Movie! Do I smell a trend?
Source And Source
Oh, and incidentally, the shoes that SJP is wearing are Christian Dior’s! And if you fancy a pair, found one on Ebay, take a look!

Louis Vuitton is looking to set up a factory in Pondicherry, purpose of which would be to attach soles to its uber luxurious (and expensive) shoes. But, and there is always a but, the tag on those shoes will continue to read, ‘Made In Italy’ because thats where most of the work would’ve been done! Read more HERE

Louis Vuitton recently had a dinner to honor Wes Anderson and the movie “The Darjeeling Limited”. What piqued my interest about the event was the appearance of the “Mumbai” Travel Notebook by Louis Vuitton, which was given to every guest.
Mind you, this book is sold out! You can find every other travel notebook on E-Luxury except the “Mumbai” notebook. :(

The notebook consists of illustrations based on India by Florine Asch. Before you make a judgement about the illustrations (about having the “cliched” elephants, maharajahs and turbans), let me tell you that the book has illustrations on landmarks and city scenes(the mumbai dabbawallas!).

The notebook retails for $81, which in “LV” terms is pretty darn cheap, in my opinion. Gosh, now I gotta go and schmooze the sales guy at the LV store to get me one!
Check out the “Mumbai” Travel Notebook on the Louis Vuitton website by searching for “notebook”.

A feast for the eyes! Oh no! I am not refering to Madame Re. The highlight of this post is not her but it is her jewelry. How gorgeous is the Kundan ring on her hand?

If you are dying to get one for yourself, here is a cute Kundan ring for you to flaunt at your next cocktail party! Wait it gets even better, the ring is only $15!

Sonam Kapoor made another public appearance at the Amul Star Voice of India wearing (no points for guessing!) an Anuradha Vakil outfit.

Below is the original outfit presented at the 2003 Lakme Fashion week. I am quite surprised that Ms Vakil would choose an outfit for Sonam from such an old collection.

Here’s Shilpa Shetty in Paris, at the unveiling of the Dom Pérignon Oenotheque 1993, dressed in a Tarun Tahiliani dress.

Source
I can’t say much except the fact that I absolutely hate the dress. Its so tacky. And the same old jewelled accent that Tahiliani has been doing for ages now. You think he’ll ever get over it?

I get nostalgic pretty easily.. sometimes its a rainy evening or a whiff of a perfume, sometimes, something I’ve eaten, or a rarely spoken phrase, sometimes its a song and sometimes a scene from a movie…it could be a mail, a call, a card, a letter.. and then sometimes, its furniture..
Well, with furniture that has never actually happened before, but when I saw this by Haldane Martin, it took me back to days that can only be categorized as, ‘way-back-when’, to my grandfather’s house where furniture like this was all over the place!
Atleast the chair anyway! Y’all know what am talking about?
Source
Not all of his collection got me nostalgic though! Some of these pieces are really contemporary, modern and very, very minimal! And, really pretty cool.
Source
Whether inciting nostalgia, or vibing ‘futuristic’, the furniture sure had a way of transporting you to a different time and place! Definitely worth a dekho.

British Airways recently unveiled the new cabin crew uniforms designed by Rohit Bal. The uniforms will be worn by air hostesses on flights in the South Asian routes. Besides the traditional sari, the collection has sherwanis and kurtas for the women.
I like the piped lining on the sari blouses and kurtas, but, the red, white and blue graphic print on the outfits is so boring. I wish Bal had chosen a more indian motif.
I am surprised there was nothing for the men…Do they still have to wear suits? Would have been nice to have them in Sherwanis too! ;)
